I find it interesting that your only real complaint is loot drops. Which is based on rng. I find that interesting because I got 5 drops this IB on one character that's at 5, and one at 2, which is more than the total drops I had in year one (2). You also use the phrase "Bungie said" alot in regards to how we got what loot. Were there some posts or tweets that I missed that you could point me to? All I could find on the matter was the following:
Potential match completion rewards now include both weapons and armor, matching the same items available from Lord Saladin during each event.
i.e only the gear that Salad-tin is selling will drop in game
Drop rates have been increased and are intended to be the primary source of rewards from Iron Banner. If you don't get what you're hoping for, you have the option to visit Lord Saladin instead.
i.e you should get drops around your light level, but if you don't Saladin is the fall back option to pick them up.
I saw nothing about Saladin selling God rolls and being the main place to get gear and every item dropping in game, in fact I saw the opposite.
With regards to legendary marks: Doing the weekly bounties nets you 75. You can also get 240 from doing the three weeklies and each daily crucible + daily story. That's 315 marks up for grabs each IB week, so I don't see much of an issue there. Much more enjoyable netting them, than farming 10000 glimmer for every gear drop.
I think this was the best IB to date. Much less lag, 2.0 gunplay is much better, new supers and subclasses make the game a lot more interesting. (SS Glitch is a non-issue as it is a glitch, an anomaly that is getting hotfixed as we speak)

I think if you read around this topic and the forum, you would quickly realize that most people are seeing a decrease in drops from previous IB. Understandably RNG does play a role in it, but the vaste majority are seeing a decrease in drops while the minority saw more. In regards to where I have gotten my information. https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Update---10132015/en/News/News?aid=13706 From here there are two lines. Game completion rewards have been reworked to be a more valid source for Iron Banner rewards In your case this happened for you. Thats great. For most it did not happen. End-of-match rewards now include both weapons and armor (including items available on Lord Saladin) This stats that drops will include items Saladin is selling, which implies, or at least made it seem like, items not being sold that week would also drop from IB. https://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Weekly-Update--10152015/en/News/News?aid=13762 The premiere items we believe you’ll want to obtain are also available for purchase from Lord Saladin himself. Subsequent Iron Banner events will include additional pieces of gear. This hear implies that the gear you can buy will have a set roll that is desirable, something that you would consider a good role if it dropped. Such as a pulse rifle with maxed out stability or a side arm with perks that greatly raise stability. If they were rather implying that the gear you could buy would be gear that you would want aside from the wide range of gear that can drop (such as a shotgun, hand cannon, HM) then that didn't happen. As I have mentioned before some people got tons of gear to drop and great for you and them. For most nothing got dropped. I'm not talking about a 277 pulse got dropped that is weaker than the one they can buy, I mean nothing got dropped. Alot of people barely saw anything drop for anyone in their games. I myself only saw two items drop. The class item and bare of boots. Those drops were days apart. My final note is on the LL marks. Class item 40, legs 40, both guns 90 apiece. that is 240 LL total. If you do everything that week to get LL that leaves you with 75 marks. But you have less considering you infuse items and because of how few you have left you can't use your legendary marks to buy other items at other vendors for that week. Some people could be in a place where they can't afford to buy an item they didn't get and they have no more LM that they can get for the week. Glimmer gave people an option to go get more and come back and purchase what they wanted. LM do not always afford you that option.
For most it did not happen.
While I agree that there are many, many posts from people who did not get any drops, I find, like with product/customer service complaints for example, that its only the people with the negative experience who complain, which suggests that it is in fact the minority of the player base who have experienced this. I would, of course, have loved even more drops than I got (I had to buy boots, but dropped both weapons + class items), but all 5 of my team mates got all 4 pieces of gear this week, which rarely happened in year one.
End-of-match rewards now include both weapons and armor (including items available on Lord Saladin) This stats that drops will include items Saladin is selling, which implies, or at least made it seem like, items not being sold that week would also drop from IB.
I can see that you could interpret that line as meaning all armour and weapons being included. It frustrates me sometimes that by trying to write their updates in a conversation style, Bungie inadvertently say two different things that can easily be misinterpreted.
The premiere items we believe you’ll want to obtain are also available for purchase from Lord Saladin himself. Subsequent Iron Banner events will include additional pieces of gear.
As above, the also there would seem that Saladin is the alternative if you don't drop them, as in the previous weekly update. That second line should tell you all you need regarding the other gear.
My final note is on the LL marks. Class item 40, legs 40, both guns 90 apiece. that is 240 LL total. If you do everything that week to get LL that leaves you with 75 marks.
75 marks give you room for 25 infusions, that's a lot of marks left over. I realise that not everyone has time to do daily every day and the weekly's, but IB overall still requires quite a bit of time investment over the week, so safe to assume anyone grinding for level 5 has the time to slot those in aswell. Not disagreeing with your posts, as you've made excellent points in both, just discussing both sides of the situation!
