I made this post after the first year 2 iron banner ended, we all knew it was a disaster, but here were my ideas and you will see the packages idea is being implemented!
[u]Rewards[/u]
The end of match iron banner legendary drop chance needs to be increased.
Legendary+ rewards should have a higher chance of dropping for people nearer to the top and also more likely to drop for people with higher scores.
Just like vanguard strikes I think iron banner matches should have a streak, the more matches you play the more likely to get better loot. (last until orbit)
[u]reward packages[/u]
When you reach rank 5 of iron banner their should be a reward package which has a guaranteed legendary armour or weapon drop, motes of light and strange coins. Also a chance to get an iron banner legendary (even the chance of the ship).
Also every time you rank up at iron banner, you should get a package, with guaranteed:
-weapon parts X50
-either spinmetal/relic iron/helium filaments/spirit bloom/hedium flakes X20
-motes of light X5
-strange coins X5

Not much I can say about this, however I'm sure everyone would agree it needs fixing!
[u]fireteams[/u]
Large fire teams should be matched with other large fireteams.
[u]IB gear light level[/u]
Vendor iron banner gear should start at 290 light not 280.
[u]level advantages[/u]
People below the minimum light level should have a severe disadvantage to those above it.
Also weapons below the minimum light level should also be at a severe disadvantage, just saw a post about nlb only doing 20 less damage in iron banner, still enough for a 1 headshot kill and 2 body shots. This needs to be fixed!
And minimum light level should be [b]raised[/b] from [b]230[/b] to [b]260[/b]
This is an endgame activity not a normal crucible game mode.

[spoiler]There should be a much more harsh damage curve for light level. I'd say 1% per 2 levels of light. So someone at 300 would take 10% less from and deal 10% more to someone at 280. This would ensure the everyone at the proposed 260 minimum would still stand a chance, but have a much harder time, as they'd deal 25% less to someone at 310. But then it would still be possible for them to do well if they were very good.[/spoiler]
[u]rage quitters[/u]
Should get a 15 minute timeout for quitting.

Also another thing could be if you quit you get a buff which on your next iron banner gamesyou earn no reputation and have no rewards. Buff removed after first victory after buff applied.
[u]Latency matchmaking[/u]
For those who don't know, is matchmaking based on connection, I.e. a person with good connection will be matched with people with good connections.

Controlling a zone should generate points every second in order to make iron banner less of a tdm type gamemode.
1 zone- 10 points per second
2 zones- 20 points per second
3 zones- 30 points per second
Also keeping the control bonus you get after a kill.

I don't think they should limit fireteams, since Crucible and Raids are the only activities where that unfortunate fourth friend doesn't have to get left out due to space. Rather, I think they should match fireteams against each other when possible instead of against solo players.
