Then we'll need one for all other cancers, then one for aids, then one IBS, then one for ED, etc. Please.

 • Really? Would you care to point out all of the other awareness campaigns for all of those that have a specifically designated, easily recognizable visual entity like the Pink Ribbon Campaign? No? Then shut up. This is a worthwhile cause and jackasses like you are not needed to admonish those who wish to create some awareness around it. God forbid we see some positivity.

 • Autism, several other cancers, AIDS. Why is breastfeeding cancer the only one being treated like it exists? Pancreatic cancer has at current an 8% survival rate, whereas cervical and breast cancer have like... a 75% survival rate. Any particular reason why the other causes are less to you?

 • Number one - it's not "breastfeeding cancer". That implies that breastfeeding is how one would get it, which is ridiculous. Number two - I've known a couple of people who have had breast cancer. The survival rate in those instance was 50%. So your stat doesn't hold up in my personal experience. And that will be different for everyone. Some may never have it impact them. I envy those people and really wish there were more of them. The entire point of my post is that someone made a gesture that should have been perceived as goodwill and positive, allowing the community to support (or not) a worthwhile cause using a vehicle that is easily identifiable (the pink ribbon campaign), and the comment to it was posted in a manner that simply blew it off completely:
Then we'll need one for all other cancers, then one for aids, then one IBS, then one for ED, etc. Please.
Why bother posting this at all? Is there some point to it that is missed by this? What is the gain to being dismissive in this instance? Anything? I seriously doubt it. I felt my response equaled the statement based on its relative merit, so I posted it.

 • Whoa. Someone got pointlessly aggressive and attempted to have a one-sided argument. It's okay. I forgive you. <3
