We got stuck last night so I just want to hear what you think is the best strategy for golgoroth

One orb if your struggling
-
The 1 orb method seems like a crutch that won't be possible in the hard mode. They give you six orbs for a reason. Also once you're able to run it the "correct" way, it's actually hard doing it the 1 orb method because you know you're actually just making more unnecessary work for yourselves.

2 RepliesMy team has two gaze holders and they both know exactly what to do and where to hold his gaze. To me the gaze people have to be on point and communicate the most. If they are off and aren't turning the boss where we need him to be then it's a complete waste. My team shoots only the right bubbles. We tried going back and forth with the bubbles but we found just sticking to one side works best for us. We all had Black Spindles which makes that boss super easy. The one gaze person who doesn't have his gaze at that moment helps shoot adds and one guy who is down below (preferably a warlock with stormcaller) takes care of all the adds so everyone else can keep shooting their spindles. Like I said your two gaze guys have to be on point and make sure they are counting down their clock timer from 10 and at 5 the other guy takes his gaze. I have done this boss with bad gaze people and great gaze people and I can say with 100% certainty that if your two gaze people are on point then this boss is super easy. Well....super easy the more black spindles you have.lol

The single orb cuts down on the mechanics you have to face.

Golgoroth is so easy with one orb strat ... makes me wonder if there is something special that can be had by killing him with a single turn...
-
1 ReplyOne orb strategy. My team had been unable to best this engagement until we tried one-orb. In two rounds we were able to get him down to half way (WoL and Shadowshot).

1 ReplyEdited by LiamCDM: 10/11/2015 2:11:14 PMYou have one gazer and 1-2 distractors. Once all the ads are dead, kill all the cursed thrall. Then you have your team shoot the L1 bubble while someone shoots at Golgoroth to get his attention. Once he's focused on him, the gazer takes the gaze and everyone goes down to the pool to DPS boss. Have a Sunbreaker use melting point on him while a Defender uses Weapons of Light along with a Nightstalker tether. Use high impact snipers like 1000 Yard Stare and Black Spindle. Have the gaxer call out the time. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5...and so on. Once he gets to 2, prepare to get out. Golgoroth has between 7-10 million HP and combining those buffs with a high impact sniper will grant between 100 K-250 K per shot depending on the sniper. If everyone is 300+, you should be able to get him down in 3 runs which takes about 5 minutes. Repeat this as many times as necessary. Once he gets down to 50% health, Taken will spawn instead of Hive which are much easier to deal with. He's super easy as long as your team is decent.

One Gazer was the best strategy for my group,
-
I would assume that two gaze grabbers would be the method that bungie intended and might be necessary to do enough damage in heroic, however, I find one grabber to be considerably easier to perform in normal. Doesn't require near the coordination, and when we tried two, I was grabbing the gaze in the back of the room, but couldn't find a good spot to bust the orbs he shoots, they were zigzagging all over the place around obstructions. Maybe grab gaze and then come to the front, do two bubbles and bolt could work, but we had most success just doing one and then re-setting
-
1 gaze 5dps Take one orb and if possible two per run I find this the most effective and safe way
-
1 gaze runner and 1orb each time. We did in two orbs not that hard
-
Well first everyone should have high impact snipers and machine guns come in handy too. Put 3 on left, 3 on right. Clear adds. Gaze runner goes to get gaze, shoot bubble, get in bubble, put up weapons of light, shoot golgoroth. When timer runs out jump out and repeat
-
I feel 1 gazer is better, because I go through at least 70% of my sniper (spindle) ammo in one gaze, meaning a second wouldn't be as damage efficient.
-
3 RepliesStay in the back corners of the room by cover so adds can't get you. Once all adds are cleared, get someone to grab Golgoroth's attention and spin him the way you want him to face. Once this is complete, shoot down an orb. Once the orb is down, have someone shat in the back corner with and auto rifle and keep his gaze for 30 seconds. Shoot the axion seekers he shoots at you, and once the gaze timer gets to 3 or so, have everyone leave the puddle and go back to the corners. Rinse and repeat, and with good dps, you can kill him in 3-4 rounds using this method. Best of luck!
-
We've done it with 1 gazer and 3 one orb runs
-
2 gazers = more complex but can be done in 1 run (2 on average) 1 gazer = less complex but takes longer. Can take anywhere from 2-4 (5 if you're simply not putting out the needed damage for whatever reason)
-
1 ReplyIve done it with 2 gazers and 1 gazer, 2 gazers seems much more complex/much more communication required, usually kill golgoroth in about 4 times 1 gazer requires much LESS communication/complexity, my teams (usually lfg teams) get em down within 2-3 times This is just my personal experience
-
6 Replies1 orb and 1 gazer, slow and steady wins the race.
-
1 ReplyI highly recommend that you do not use the one orb method, and if you do, don't get used to it. I believe the hard mode will require players to swap his gaze. People are shooting themselves in the foot because they want to do the "easiest" way. Learn the mechanics.
-
Edited by LegendarySyn: 10/11/2015 2:00:42 PM1 gazer. 2 orbs (closest to the door). 1 weapons of light bubble between the puddles from the 2 orbs. People jump into the puddle closer to the side they were killing ads from, grab weapons of light, dps, and use the titan bubble for safety while jumping back up after gaze drops.
1 orb works just as well if you don't have that sped kid who can't stand still and shoot. We had one and he kept blocking others while running back and forth in the puddle. We found his inability to stand still to be less of an issue if we were split up across two puddles.
-
6 RepliesOne gaze. Get as many black spindles and Touch of Malices in the orb as possible.
-
A lot of it depends on your weapons. If you have weak weapons and are not damaging the ogre enough each time, it will take a long time on the one orb method.
-
If you're running with randoms, lfg pick ups or not very good people, one orb one gaze works very good.. but if you have a good team six orbs is an excellent method. Just depends on the skill of your team
-
Kill it
-
1 ReplyYour goddamn name. That's the best strategy.
-
1 gaze grabber, one orb, as much dps as you can then jump out, shit is cake.
