Is Red Death worth 248 strange coins?
Hi all
I want red death for crucible but never managed to get it in year 1 or 2. When xur sells legacy primary engrams, would it be worth buying 8 of them to get red death? I have 8 undiscovered year 1 primaries. Obviously I would buy one at a time but knowing my luck, it will drop on the 8th.
Or should I just play with hawksaw and forget about exotic pulse rifles?
248 strange could buy an awful lot of 3oCs. Does red death drop from 3oC?

Edit:Oh and the Vex,Thorn,Necrochasm and Bad juju were raid and bounty weapons they might not drop from legacy engrams (not sure about it but it seems logical) increasing your droprate somewhat.

Red death is da bes. I exclusively use it. Yes you can get red death from 3oc. Do whatever you have to to get it

1 Reply3oC does drop Red Death but you should just pound all the weekly exotic chances like the old days. The old raids still drop Y1 Red Death and other exotics you're missing and they are all easy mode with all our new gear. Atheon and Skolas drop in one magazine (x3) of Sleeper shots and take no time at all anymore. Same with level 28 PoE, the exotic chance and coins to boot. WIN WIN if you have 8 left to discover.

1 ReplyI never had red death year 1.. So last week I decided to do prison of elders because I had a bunch of treasure keys and remembered that u usually get exotics from the chest.. Anyway the first open was a red death.. So maybe u can try the chest.. U get keys every week still

Its a tough one.. you wouldnt even be guaranteed a red death from all those engrams. But it is a great gun. Must be one of my next purchases if i dont get lucky with engrams soon

1 ReplyBuy it off the wall with legendary marks. Year 2 version especially if u want it for iron banner or trials since attack and defense matters. Don't waste time trying to get a year one version.

Red death is very under rated.i loved it in year 1 but year 2 its a beast.i would get that over truth any day.i speak of pve,i never used it much in pvp although i hear its top notch for crucible. Even in the raid its great,but i switch to malice from daughters to oryx. Truth is too situational to take up a exotic slot. Now im not sure how true this is but ive heard of people getting repeats on the legacy engrams so do research before spending those coins gaurdian.

IMO, Red Death is awesome (Health regen...) I have Red Death on PS4 and Bad JUJU on XBONE , both are beasty but red Death has always been a favorite. That's my 2 cents.

3 RepliesI'd say yes. It'll be 150 marks, after the (up to) 248 strange coins, because for some crucible matches, level matters. I'm still trying to decide between Truth and Red Death for my next unlock. The only other option is Bad Juju, also worth the marks, but lower on the priority list. Sadly the purchased exotics come at 280 light, and advance more slowly with infusion than legendaries, so I've barely bothered with Exotics in year 2 yet.

Both hawksaw and the vendor version of the villainy are really good. Both can hang with juju and red death in pvp

I would never spend that many coins to get a single weapon. I honestly would keep using what you have currently and wait for Xûr to sell it again. It surely will happen at some point and from what I hear, Hawksaw is quite useful.

Red death is extremely helpful because of the health regen. Also, it is a 2 shot kill if you get both head shots perfectly. Worth the coins
