Bungie you cater to these scrubs cuz they are 99% of the community, I understand. But "skill is its own weapon".
Taking out shot package, nerfing suros, thorn and last word wont do jack S*** bungie, you wana know why?
You can't nerf SKILL! Soon I and other players that are actually good, will give you something new to nerf cuz that's what these skill less, mindless scrubs will be B****ing about next.

Pulse rifles and fusions next load out. Although idiots will still die from a shotty to the face cus they don't understand skill. If u have short range weapon then let your target come close and boom they are dead. It's simple.

I can appreciate skill if one has to show for it, but when he boast about himself being superior and better than others, I lose all respect for that person. Lack of a better word it's...pathetic

Nerfing Thorn and TLW was great. PVP has a huge range of weapons being used right now not just 4 or 5. And having shotgun and skill in the same sentence is a joke right?

It's just artificial new experiences. What better way to keep people playing, then constantly changing how weapons work (nerfing to oblivion or buffing to overpowered). The skilled will always kill with anything and the scrubs will cling to the weapons they are killed by.

Bump. In a way I'm glad shotgun is getting nerfed. Make guns tougher to use, increase the skill gap. The thorn and last word nerf has made pvp infinitely better. I can slap kids around, and I don't have to switch to OP guns 75% of the time mid-game. Level advantages disabled? I'm popping Year 1 weapons all day everyday. Re-rolling my backup party crasher & matador for knee pads + rangefinder.

Edited by ford0fy: 10/9/2015 3:42:00 PMIt's all about knowing the maps, I would say 90 percent of the people in the crucible will use snipers in close range maps. Then They keep getting one shot by a shotgun and wonder why. Be wise with your load out and try and get a feel for how the enemy is playing and what they are using and you won't have much to complain about. Also try playing trials and that will make you use all types of weapons and get good at playing against all types of people. I've played against snipers that use them like shotguns and always get head shots. It gets frustrating but that just means I'm doing something wrong and I need to change my tactics. Thorn did need a nerf though, I'll agree with that even though I used it and just about everyone used it. Because it was just very efficient and got the job done. But it was the only one of its kind maybe if there was other dot weapons it would have been different.

17 RepliesSeriously bungie. I'm a 35 year old 1980's gamer. Remember nes? Only A and B? Games were unforgiving and difficult. Seems to me anytime players develop skill at something you want to nerf it. I didn't get trophies for nothing when I was growing up either. You work hard, play hard, and grind for the skill. If you can't do that; then you crying children (some adults) should go play something a little more your own speed. IE little big planet. See you in my scopes noobs :)

21 RepliesThey don't nerf stuff only because of the community calls for it. Bungie has so much data based of what is going on in their game. The take a look at what the community says and looks at the data. If the data supports the claims, that is when they make the change. Bungie is constantly trying to balance weapons. This is common of games with MMO aspects. Stuff is always getting changed.

They are taking shot package out so they can fine tune shotguns range and once they get it right they will add it back. Although shot package usnt the problem.

Not pointing fingers, but most of the "skilled" players that gloat about their K/D are more concerned about creating and maintaining a red bar connection while competing. Next Tuesday will be a testament to this statement.

Nothing else even close. 9133 kills with the hand cannon (Nine Thousand One Hundred Thirty Three!!) 6535 kills with shotguns (Six Thousand Five Hundred Thirty Five!!) No other weapon has more than 100 kills SMH OP.....SMH

Sure there are people who get a lot of kills with skill, but when people without skill easily get kills with specific weapons or perks then you know that the weapon has to be OP.

You guys realize that the nerf to shot package is to make players stop using their old weapons right? The new weapons really are pretty balanced. But felwinters is still going to snipe you. Removing shot package will make crucible better. Shotguns right now take no skill. Having to get into melee range and then shoot for the kill that takes a little more skill. Overall I think this is needed. However I do agree that nerfs don't change much. They just make another weapon better. Nerf shotguns and now fusion rifles will run crucible. That's just how it is. So yes skill will always prevail
