The truth us out there, search the landscape he says....
The effort that was put into finding the sleeper especially over at r/searchforthesleeper is unreal. Bungie just let everyone spend countless hours of research and exploring just to laugh at us. This is the biggest disappointment in any game I've ever played. It couldve been so much better than a time released event. I'm still going to play but damn what a let down.
Bump if you agree so they know that simply time stamping a quest is unacceptable and just another artificial way to increase playtime
Edit: bungie said to look so the community did. Had they said nothing i wouldnt be as salty but they said it was out there and thats what bothers me

Agreed. Especially because I've been a follower of the searchforthesleeper page for quite some time now. I even put in my own effort in searching patrols, missions, etc. for hours. Bungie definitely used this as a marketing technique to make the game last longer. I do not appreciate what they've done with this weapon and what was suppose to be an epic quest line.

I felt almost the same when they said about the Oryx Basketball Court but, cheer up Guardian! there are plenty more secrets to be found!
-
A Vex timegate*
-
Well if you didn't look you wouldn't have the 4 fusions already so yeah we had to look
-
Its just a game. If you dedicated your life to finding it thats your problem. Besides, how many times do you have to get burned before you learn?
-
Well the start of it was those four drops, so looking wasn't what everyone was expecting. Kinda trollish of them.
-
and next week...the second firewall
-
I don't mind surprises. It keeps the game interesting instead of getting everything done in one day than there's nothing else to do but run those heroics strike again. I don't mind it

Edited by Esgramor: 10/7/2015 11:22:43 PMEdit: I really do enjoy playing this game. So i only ask that we as players not be mislead whether intentionally or not as to how a weapon is to be found or unlocked.
First time around i may have been a bit too sarcastic.
Sign here if you were trying to figure out how to get the SS, but are just glad that we know what to do now.

The Give Me generation at its finest...
-
Well it's based on vex technology. It's wibbly wobbly.
-
I agree. I heard about this and then saw the immense amount of people researching, exploring, and even glitching areas to try and find the secrets. Seems asinine to just drop the quest whenever Bungie wants. This game is getting more annoying than fun. It's turned into a gamblers paradise, trying to find more ways for us to login every day and keep playing. Frankly, I'm getting fed up. You can give us the fun, without the tactics that limit us and demand us to login daily. It's borderline abusive.
-
You're assuming that doing this quest and "waiting for banshee" is going to result in the SS. Nothing has been proven. This may just be the first part of a long series full of puzzles and quests. Bungie said it would take more than one guardians mind to figure it out, and it has. Collectively as a community we have figured out the four relics linked to this quest, the four codes for the first part of it and the items needed to repair the new relic. Let it play out and stop whining about what you think you know might happen. If you want more of a challenge of a puzzle then go play chess. Theres only so much they can do to make this gun appear in the game. If they made it so hard that only a few people figured it out then all the hype would be enjoyed by those select few.
-
I do agree with you on certain points. Now, with that being said, I also will admit I was not one of the individuals that searches for the sleeper. I read posts about it, however never spent a minute searching. Question I have is when did bungie say keep looking for sleeper? If that directly said that, then yes I fully agree that was low.
-
They needed to give people time to find the four relics
-
Bungie never said we were guaranteed the Sleeper Simulant by a certain day. They probably enjoyed watching the fervor over the weapon, trolling us just a little perhaps. But do you think they feel bad about it, especially considering the vocal minority of their player base who are frequently rude and antagonistic? Lol just be excited it's here.
-
..............it's......it's just a game.......
-
No idea why they just didn't tell the community to not waste their time. They just sat back and led people on.
-
Well you had to get the relics first, so you did have to do something and tbh I'm pretty sure everyone knew it was, it was literally confirmed that you would have to give the gunsmith set items to regain his memory of the gun, memories take time to come back, if you really want everything in day one then you are playing this game wrong, you'll burn out quicker then a hobo on fire.
-
Lighten up man, we still got all the info on the quest steps thanks to their hard work. "The truth is out there" and "i want to believe" etc were tributes to the x files. You know, the show about conspiracy theories coming true. Bungies way of just having fun with all the crazy theories that were going around. Ps its also near to halloween. Trick or treat
-
Reputation gains are basically time gates, yes. You'll notice that no one has the gun yet. I really don't mind.
-
Next you make a rant. Dont say "im still going to play anyway" in it. You can still play, just dont type that. Makes you look ignorant.

Edited by SoJack3d: 10/7/2015 9:23:55 PMI had a post during week 1 of TTK about the structure being obviously geared towards extending our playtime and the salt came out and slammed me in defense of their savior bungie. "Dont u bad mouth mah fav game developer man" "Id sacrifice my first born to bungie." etc etc. Mustve been jaded directly post-release and couldnt see it, glad people are noticing now edit: the post was in regards to how ToC were devised to get us to play strike after strike and spend more time grinding, everyone was like "nuh uh" "bungie doesnt care how much we play" pft. Who the eff doesnt care how many people use their product? hur dur

Sword? Wait a week Chaperone? Wait a week First Curse? Wait 2 weeks Its pretty fûcking dumb their putting time walls in front of everything to make it last longer

Edited by Hellekeen: 10/8/2015 6:55:42 AMits not just that .. its the whole "quest" was half assed and completely pulled out of the a$$.. hide the code in a "Hive Ballet" of the Knights, may be a nice hint to rasputin and ballet "Dance of the Knights" by Sergei Prokofiev - Romeo and Juliet (Op. 64) but i severely doubt that there was so much brain in that descision..
