New vehicle ideas; Share yours!

Not a whole lot of vehicles in Destiny; which stinks, because the ones we do have are a lot of fun to drive... on the rare occasions that we do get to drive them. The Pike, Heavy Pike, Interceptor, and Heavy Interceptor only appear in a handful of story and quest missions, as well as three Crucible maps, and only in Combined Arms. If you have an idea for a brand-new vehicle to add to Destiny, post it here! If you also have an idea for a Combined Arms map or Story mission that may feature this vehicle, post that too! I'll start us off; try to present your ideas in this format, give people an idea of what your new vehicle would be like: [u][i][b]SUROS Rover[/b][/i][/u] [b]Vehicle Type:[/b] [i]Hovercraft/Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV)[/i] [b]Association:[/b] [i]The Last City, SUROS Foundry[/i] [b]Crew:[/b] [i]3 (1 Pilot, 2 Gunners)[/i] [b]Weapons:[/b] [i]5x Machine Guns (2x Front-mounted, 1x Middle Turret, 2x Rear Turret)[/i] [b]Damage Type:[/b] [i]Kinetic[/i] [b]Description:[/b] SUROS foundry developed this small infantry fighting vehicle for use by Guardian fireteams on the frontier. A sleek, well-balanced hovercraft, the SUROS Rover has proven capable of handling all manner of terrain on various planets throughout our solar system... and is armed with enough firepower to take on hardened enemy weapons platforms such as Walkers and Goliath Tanks. In addition, the SUROS Rover is compatible with the Sparrow Transmat link; however, it requires Guardians establish a special link through patrol beacons in order to transfer properly. [b]Notes:[/b] This is essentially Destiny's equivalent to the Warthog in Halo, though it is more similar to the Spectre in terms of both appearance and controls; it has a sleek white frame not unlike a SUROS pulse rifle, complete with the dragon emblem and SUROS logo on the side. The cockpit holds 2 players; one drives the vehicle, and has direct control of two fixed machine guns mounted on the undercarriage. The second player controls a smaller machine-gun turret that sits right on top of the cockpit, which can rotate 180 degrees. The third player controls the larger turret on the back, which has two machine guns and can rotate a full 360 degrees. In PvE, you can summon a Rover by locating unique Patrol beacons; these beacon are blue instead of green, and will conjure a Rover for you to drive when you interact with them. These beacons have a higher chance of activating if you have a full 3-man Fireteam, and can appear at any location sans the Dreadnought. [i][u][b]Hive Myrmidon[/b][/u][/i] [b]Vehicle Type:[/b] [i]Aircraft, VTOL[/i] [b]Association:[/b] [i]Hive, Blood of Oryx[/i] [b]Crew:[/b] [i]1 Pilot[/i] [b]Weapons:[/b] [i]Eye Cannon, Triple Mortar[/i] [b]Damage Type:[/b] [i]Void[/i] [b]Description:[/b] These aircraft have only been encountered recently by Guardians venturing into the Ascendant Realm aboard the Dreadnought. The are piloted by Hive Acolytes (though Taken appear to be incapable of operating them), an can easily overwhelm careless Fireteams with it's powerful arsenal of weapons. The orb on the front of the craft can fire a beam of void energy, as well as unleash a barrage of homing projectiles. The craft is also fast and nimble, though lightly armored. [b]Notes:[/b] Destiny needs flyable aircraft, and this could be the answer. Similar to the new Phaeton aircraft coming in Halo 5: Guardians, it's armed with an "Eye Cannon" that fires a void beam just like the Ogre's eye blast, and can also fire three Void bombs like those used by Taken Hobgoblins. The aircraft has similar aesthetics to the Hive warships we see alongside the Dreadnought in the Hive fleet, with the cockpit located in the center; it opens up from the top, allowing the Guardian to lay flat inside it like a coffin. It has a single, triangular thruster located in the back, and controls are similar to those of Falcon in Halo: Reach with the "Recon" layout; using the Xbox controller as an example, use the left trigger to increase altitude, press A to lock altitude, use RT to fire the main cannon, and the Y button to switch weapons. Like the SUROS Rover, this vehicle can be summoned in Patrol, but only on the Dreadnought in the Hull Breach area; you'd have to keep an eye out for the specially marked Patrol beacons when you see the message "The enemy is moving against each other...". Unlike the Rover, these beacons have a high chance of spawning even when you're alone, and can be activated by multiple players. * * * [b][u]Story Mission Ideas[/u]:[/b] Here's a few Story/Quest Missions where these vehicles might appear. [b][u]Quest Mission[/u]:[/b] [i][b]Now They Fly?[/b][/i] [i]"As if having to jump across Hive Tombships to reach the Warpriest wasn't bad enough, we had these things swooping in trying to pick us off the whole way. Be nice if we could learn to fly them for ourselves; save us the trouble of floofing about next time we need to cross a giant chasm."[/i] - Unknown Hunter [b]Description:[/b] The Guardians who ventured into Oryx's realm and slew him brought back reports of a new type of Hive attack aircraft in the Tombship dock. Amanda Holliday wants you to capture one of those ships and take her for a test flight. [b]Notes:[/b] This takes place in the same area where you have to jump across the Hive ships right before the Warpriest. Only this time, the shield door on the far side is deactivated; and there are several Hive Myrmidons waiting for you on the opposite side. Jump across the ships, grab one of the Myrmidons, and then complete a series of Patrol missions with the Myrmidon to see how it handles. The final objective has you fighting a giant, flying ghost of Oryx; not unlike the final boss in the Regicide mission, only he's much bigger, can fly around the shipyard... and you have a little more firepower at your disposal this time with the Myrmidon. Kill him to complete the mission. [b][u]Objectives[/u]:[/b] [i]1. Cross the shipyard. 2. Steal a Myrmidon. 3. Kill 50 enemies with the Myrmidon. 4. Fly through enough energy markers to achieve Overcharge Level III. 5. Defeat the Specter of Oryx.[/i]

Main colour is white with grey highlights and a wind design on the wings of the sparrow. When boosting, you leave a trail of wind behind you. Stats Boost: 40 Durability: 55 Speed: 160 Perks -Boost -Strafe Thrusters -Wind Thrusters [b]Wind Thrusters (Exotic Perk) -[/b] In PvE, the farther away you are from your objective point, the faster the boost is. Caps at +200% speed. In PvP, has +25% boost speed for every guardian higher on the leaderboard than you.

    I got a idea, I call it the No Sparrow Beyond. A sparrow with a wood finish and two no land beyonds on it. My freind named W0nt0 came up with the idea so I give credit to him. It would be exotic and may be even a whole new line of exotics like shaders, cards, sparrows, and exotic ghost. I think anything with a cool story behind it would be cool also. Stats: Speed 140 Crew 1 Durability 500 Weapons Two no land beyonds Boost 60 Perks: Dual wield; fire both weapons at once Strafe; strafe left to right Exotic Perk: Boost master; after boosting get bonus damage and accuracy

      S-99 Dawnchaser Exotic "Wasp" (heavy sparrow) Appearance: like the new elemental sparrows except bigger. This one's white, black, and gold with no elemental aura. It has a gun mounted on the front center. (Second person back seat? Your opinions on this) Speed: 140 Durability:60 Boost: 40 Perks: Scout turret: Fire - fires semi auto kinetic blast (replaces Quick Brake/Overdrive button) Boost Strafe Thrusters Exotic Perk: (unlocked with experience from stinger kills) Hyperdrive: acts like overdrive but does not explode at the end. use joy stick pushed in to activate. Has a large hard light shield with metal frame on the left arm and a triple barreled machine gun on the right arm with a laser pointer in the middle. A large grenade launcher is mounted on the right arm, just behind the machine gun. A large 6 silo rocket launcher is mounted on the back, facing upward. The walker stands about 2.5 times taller than a Guardian. [b]Weapons[/b] Note: All weapons bind to R2/Right Trigger unless stated otherwise. Press Triangle/Y to switch weapons or hold to switch to heavy weapons, if any available. [b]-Triple Anti-Infantry Machine Gun[/b] -Binds to R2/Right Trigger. -Each barrel deals a different elemental damage. -Each barrel has the same fire rate and damage as a year 2 Corrective Measure would. -All barrels fire simultaneously, firing 3 bullets at once. In this mission, you test a new prototype vehicle for SUROS in which you go on a rampage through the Cosmodrome, killing tons of Fallen and Hive. At the end you have to kill a giant Fallen Baron wielding a Walker's cannon with adds spawning every 45 seconds. The reward is a mission specific legendary SUROS weapon.

        [b]The Eliksni's Paragon - Vehicle (Tank Class)[/b] [i]"The Great Machine birthed thy wonder before thy's eyes"[/i] [b]Appearance:[/b] Basically, take a Pike and a Walker and mash them together into a Revenant sized hover tank with smaller scale versions of the tank's weapons. Main colour is steel grey with red highlights an the House of Devil's insignia on the sides and front. The back uses the Pike's thrusters and the Pike's hover tech. [b]Weapons[/b] Note: All weapons bind to R2/Right Trigger unless stated otherwise. Press Triangle/Y to switch weapons or hold to switch to heavy weapons, if any available. [b]-Light Shrapnel Cannon (Smaller version of the Walker's main cannon)[/b] -Fires twice as fast as the Walker's cannon, but deals 25% of it's damage -Deals Solar Damage [b]-Dual Light Arc Repeaters (Light Pike's weapons)[/b] -One mounted on each side of the rotating turret, one on each side of the Cannon barrel -Pretty much the same as the Pike's cannons. -Deals Arc damage [b]Abilities[/b] [b]Grav Boost:[/b] Binds to L2/Left Trigger. Provides a small temporary speed boost. (Think of the Interceptor's speed boost) [b]Stats[/b] Durability: 1000 hp (Approximately 5 times a Guardian's health) Speed: Sluggish (Interceptor Speed) Operators: 1 Spawning Method: Will always spawn in vehicle compatible locations in patrol and single player story missions. Can spawn anywhere vehicle compatible thrice a day with a consumable called "Fallen Transmat Control (The Eliksni's Paragon)".

          King's Chariot Class: Sparrow/Pike Perks: Boost Will of Light Shadow Cannon- Fire Taken orbs that deal heavy damage, choice between blinding and suppressing enemies, or leave a large AOE attack that does extra lingering damage Descendent of the King- Killing Taken charge your super, and boost stats damage against minions of the darkness for 20 seconds

          The Lance Exotic Sparrow "Bullets are not the only way guardian. . ." Made of a dull grey metal with a sharp pointed front. On the back is a torn purple banner of a white winged sword, supposedly from a forgotten faction. It will have all the normal upgrades along with some new ones. Streak(Boost+Brake) Rocket forward at very high speed for a short distance. This is kind of like blink with the same animation effects and stuff, but there is no teleport. Streak will have its own slow cooldown time. Lance All enemies hit while in streak are dealt heavy (void) damage. This should be enough to be useful, but not OP. When this perk is unlocked the front glows bright purple along with the other blink-like effects during streak. Enemies killed by lance give some streak energy back. Less energy comes back with each kill. What do you guys think?

        • Oh oh oh oh oh posted this a couple of times but I finally found a good thread to put it on. Ps this idea may not be the best but I just wanna express my opinion. [spoiler]a new sparrow when you beat atheon (taken mode) if there's one. It's a sparrow that allows you to travel from one place to another in seconds like when you warp drive into another planet. You may choose which place you want to go.[/spoiler] [spoiler]crota = not sure, you may just have like swords attached to it and have a really high defense and damages enemies when hit directly by the sparrow [/spoiler] [spoiler]oryx = not sure again, maybe you can shoot enemies and make them work for you(you can only have up to 4 or 5). Not sure [/spoiler]

          • I would like a Gunner Sparrow! The Contingency Plan: 260 Speed Standard Durability Left Trigger boosts to higher speed Right Trigger shoots 260 power kinetic turrets Nothing fancy or over powered but an option to shoot the throw away enemies on your drive :)
