Are we really getting into this debate again? OMM wouldn't work because there's no guarantee the players would know what to do. Look at Court of Oryx for example. Imagine having retards like that trying to do King's Fall. I know it's optional but it still wouldn't work and it would be a total waste of money on Bungie's part. Now, if we were to talk about an in-game LFG system then that would work. There's no argument against that.

Court of oryx has worked pretty well for me...every now and then u get a guy that doesn't know what the hell is going on but they usually pick it up quick

I agree 100% OMM wouldn't work. What I think would be great however, is a system similar to what I believe Planet Destiny uses. Where you can set up a session with specific parameters, then people can either browse available teams or ask to automatically be placed on a group who's specifics they meet. It would be an in game LFG where people would still put in that effort, team leaders would still have some semblance of control over the group makeup but it would broaden end game activities to a lot of people.

Why are people like you so narrow minded? "OMM can't work because people won't know what to do..." That is flat out bullshit, the same thing happens on LFG sites outside of Bungie's control and what happens? Nothing, people learn and in the process they will find like minded people to befriend just like you and everyone else did among the crappy elitism that rules third party LFG sites. We live in the internet age, anyone in this game has access to Youtube and Twitch so they can look up what to do if they are stumped. Raids are not that complicated once you know what to do or where to find out. The only people that did face the raid in all its "hard as hell and misterious" glory were the ones vying for the first completion at each time a raid released since they were the only ones that had to figure out the raids without any external help and with time running against them. Bungie should stop twiddling their thumbs on this and implement OMM or even better in game LFG functions and clan support. They made the game into a pseudo subscription service they better start catering to its players needs, not just an elitist few.

How so? Its Bungie we are talking about they like to micromanage the game. With in-game LFG support Bungie would be in a good position to step in and limit discriminating practices and other shenanigans. It makes no difference for those who like to use LFG sites, they can still keep using those like they have so far.

Bump to that...the elites are harming the game with the must have beaten the raid to play with me and have the emblem to show it... but seem to forget thst they had to go thru it not having ever done it themselves really gets under my skin

People quit at the first sign of trouble or don't want to explain to new players. There would be no difference between LFG and optional matchmaking except not having to be stuck on a computer while my ship burns neutrinos in orbit. I do support in game LFG as well though

In MM, the problems of LFG are much worse. I have 1400 hours on Destiny, I would know.

I'm probably close to that and I haven't seen much of a difference. Lack of mics would likely be worse but that just means for raids you need a mic attached. People still won't use them but that would help. Nightfall there's no need. There are conditions to how matchmaking is improved. For instance the rematch rate right now is abysmal. Can take over an hour to rematch a two man strike with a third

Bro, he's just saying that, optional or not, it wouldn't work. People would just be on here complaining that matchmaking keeps putting them in groups that are doomed to fail from the start. Maybe it would work out every once in a while...but most matchmade groups wouldn't be able to make it past the Conflux/Bridge/Warpriest Door.

MM works just fine with everything else. I get what he's saying. It will have no effect on him if he decides not to use it. He can still LFG, he can still clan, he can still use his friends. There is absolutely no reason to be against it. It's more, you don't think it will work so everyone else needs to think the same way. There are clearly plenty of people asking for it.

I guess, in the end, my point is that there are more important things I think Bungie should focus on. Obviously OMM isn't something that wouldn't HURT the game, but it's not going to drastically improve it either.

It's made to play with other players. So the social side has to be there. This philosophy that Bungie created of leaving the game to find friends to play in the game is a joke really. This game is kind of laughing stock in that regard compared to how games are set up. No clan support, no chat, no group options, no anything that really is needed in social game.
