That's how it's done, or if you use pokebank the assistant gives it, Meganium and Croconaw for free :D

Wait how do you get it in Alpha Sapphire? I should know this but I can't remember.

I think you trade it to black2 or white2 then trade it to pokebank on the 3ds then trade from there to the new games. (Never done this but i believe this is how it's done)
