Was able to finally clear it yesterday on our 1st try somehow. I was a 295 Titan, had a 301 Hunter & Warlock with me. I bubbled the boss w/St.14 and we sworded the sh!t out of him. It didn't go well at first but the Warlock supered some ads so I got my bubble back quickly and then we got him down on the 2nd bubble. Killed the last ad with 2sec left on the clock, it was a close one. Got the Spindle and ship, but more importantly I got the satisfaction of finally clearing it. The key to our success was the fact the other 2 members of my team had exotic swords, without that we never would've gotten enough DPS on him.
