Easy strategy for people having trouble on "Lost To Light" for their Black Spindle - Swords! (2man with 2.25 left on timer)
[b]For anyone having difficulty with the mission or had difficulty last itme:[/b]
This can be done fairly easily Defender Titan + any other class if you have swords, we 2 manned it killing the boss in 40 secs and having 5.15 to left to kill all the adds. Finished it with 2.25 left on the timer.
We ran a 297 Defender TItan + 298 Stormcaller Warlock at the time and neither of us had raid gear. Text + below:

The first 2 rooms where you need to kill the Taken are fairly simple and straight forward. Kill them off as fast as you can, not really too much to explain. The last room with the Taken is probably the most difficult part with Drivikis, the Chosen; but you want to kill the boss ASAP. With a Defender Titan running Blessing of Light it makes it fairly easy, you can just bubble up on the platform where the boss begins and sword him to death rather quickly. We killed it two man using this strat and had the boss dead with 5.15 left to spare to clean up the adds, spending about 40 seconds to kill the boss total. Take down the big black balls after this and the rest is just clean up duty. We were light level 297 and 298 for this; neither having raid gear.

7 RepliesI did it on my first try yesterday. Swords are good, yes. But the key to succes, is to keep enemies at minimum all the time. When the blights spawn? Shoot them right away. There will spawn 7. Take down knights and centurions ASAP. Stormcaller is great for clearing all kinds of ads. We had a sunbreaker aswell to clear ads. Hunter was obviously nightstalker. Last time I tried a lot of tactics, mostly chaos. Doesn't work. Ads - boss - ads - boss - ads - boss - last ads = succes. I bought 20 black spindle afterwards.. Did this with 3 guys, 1 hunter 1 titan and 1 warlock, I tried using Palpatine warlock, but we failed first 3 trys, 4th try I went sunsinger. I had on the extra grenade and the gloves to give an extra melee. We got to the last room with 6 minutes left and finished with about 40 seconds to spare, Best way we found, was to kill Blight first, once first blights are down one dude was adds and the other 2 put damage on the boss, Next wave of blight comes, same thing, it just gets tougher cause of the shielded dudes that come as well, I used a legendary solar sword on them as fast as I could, then went for the Blights and then adds again, when cleared focused on boss. Blights spawn again, so repeat, after this one, you have a good little chunk of time where nothing else will spawn, this is were we laid into the boss and brought him almost down. then 2 more blights spawn with a couple shielded dudes. At this point we had about a minute 30 left, so it was clean up adds and finish the boss. * another thing we found useful, we talked about our revives and if it was worth it, like if a guy went down, but I was in good position to take blights out or shielded dudes, and the other guy was ocupied as well, he would just respawn, if it was possible to lift we did, all the time talking so that no guy was down longer then he had to be. I used Hung Jury Invective Solar Legendary Sword. Sunsinger 2 grenades 2 melees, 296 our Titan was the Hammer one 293 our Hunter had the teather shit 296. Honestly, we coulda got into the last room faster, but had a little trouble with the snipers in the previous room. It's doable, but you gotta work together and not get pissed when you fail, Good luck all, didn't get to play last week on wed, so I'm glad Bungie left it 310 for us this week, it's a good challenge for anyfire team, hope there are more like it.

Is this the only way to get Black Spindle or can it drop from rewards/engrams? I honestly don't feel like wasting another minute trying to get it through this daily. And even if it's the only way to get the sniper, I may forget about it as I doubt it's worth this much hassle (didn't even use Black Hammer all that often and this is a stripped down version).

Maybe one day I'll get this done. I know it won't happen but man would I love it if when you killed the boss the whole shit would end or hell add a minute or two to the clock. Was doing okay for trying to solo for like the second time. Killed the boss, lol and of course I had 30 seconds left to kill half a trillion of -blam!-ing psions, like five -blam!-ing balls, and every taken variation that was in the room. So yeah just gave up once again, did the mission the normal and just continued on.
