Easy strategy for people having trouble on "Lost To Light" for their Black Spindle - Swords! (2man with 2.25 left on timer)
[b]For anyone having difficulty with the mission or had difficulty last itme:[/b]
This can be done fairly easily Defender Titan + any other class if you have swords, we 2 manned it killing the boss in 40 secs and having 5.15 to left to kill all the adds. Finished it with 2.25 left on the timer.
We ran a 297 Defender TItan + 298 Stormcaller Warlock at the time and neither of us had raid gear. Text + below:

The first 2 rooms where you need to kill the Taken are fairly simple and straight forward. Kill them off as fast as you can, not really too much to explain. The last room with the Taken is probably the most difficult part with Drivikis, the Chosen; but you want to kill the boss ASAP. With a Defender Titan running Blessing of Light it makes it fairly easy, you can just bubble up on the platform where the boss begins and sword him to death rather quickly. We killed it two man using this strat and had the boss dead with 5.15 left to spare to clean up the adds, spending about 40 seconds to kill the boss total. Take down the big black balls after this and the rest is just clean up duty. We were light level 297 and 298 for this; neither having raid gear.

Maybe one day I'll get this done. I know it won't happen but man would I love it if when you killed the boss the whole shit would end or hell add a minute or two to the clock. Was doing okay for trying to solo for like the second time. Killed the boss, lol and of course I had 30 seconds left to kill half a trillion of -blam!-ing psions, like five -blam!-ing balls, and every taken variation that was in the room. So yeah just gave up once again, did the mission the normal and just continued on.

5 RepliesAbsolutely frustrated by this quest. This is the second series of tries I've been though. After several total hours attempted, I'm just not sure what's being done wrong. I'm 295 with an exotic sword. I'm in a fireteam with a titan bubble up, and me putting a void bolt on the boss to set up crit damage. But even with 3 players hacking away, he won't go down in one bubble like you see posted here on the forums. Inevitably, he gets away with about 1/4 health. By the time you get him down the rest of the way, the arena is full of psions and assorted majors. Even with one guy working full time on blight while two pull out the last 1/4 health, too many mobs spawn in to finish off in the last few minutes. The hundred or so psions are especially problematic. Is there another trick to maximizing damage on the boss? 3 guys with exotic swords, a titan bubble, and void bow shot not enough at 290 light level?

8 RepliesDid this for the first time this morning with 2 hunters (both LL 299) and a Titan (LL296). Failed the first time due to too many accidental deaths on the way in (didn't have enough time on the clock). Then we loaded it up again and beat it with a couple of minutes to spare. Titan with Sunbreaker helps (for add clearing as opposed to Boss DPS). We downed blights (balls) first, then cleared out adds preventing us from DPSing boss, and finally hit the boss as much as we could before next round of blights appeared. If you don't have swords (we didn't), then I would recommend working on the blights/adds to clear some space and then burning the boss as much as possible in between add spawns. We tried for hours last week and weren't able to finish it because we were trying to burn the boss down while adds bombarded us. If you do it this way, it's difficult to even see what you are shooting at, not because of the black balls the boss shoots at you, but because of all the arc/solar/void fire coming in your direction from the adds.

We started off ok with controlling adds and bubbles but Shit gets crazy fast. My titan is only 260 something though. Gotta rank him up a bit more. Edit* I do have the shotty you get as a titan that doesn't use ammo in a bubble. That should do some work.
