Title says it all, that's the furthest I've got in the raid, it's relatively straightforward for the most part, I'm just wondering how to effectively use the red aura, because my best weapon is a shitty 298 Scout and acolytes are constantly moving so it's hard (for me) to increase the duration of the dps phase.
Nobody has patience to explain via voice chat whilst in the raid.
Thanks for the help everyone, I've been watching the guide on YouTube you suggested sc slayer. Pretty good I'll look for a group where I can practice

Edited by Guardian0359: 9/29/2015 9:03:45 AMYes the warpriest is daunting and you will die by him a lot but do not fear because you will make him your bitch once you get it down to an art. First are three pads step on all three to start the fight survive until warpriest roars causing three knights to cone which you kill. Second step on the pads by the glyphs lighting up (once a glyph is destroyed it will be a burning red flame) Thirdly someone will be given the aura of the initiate and they will have a red bubble and vision from there you must kill adds to reset timer recommended to 3 to 4 seconds left otherwise you end it prematurely. After the round is over the priest summons a powerful oculus blast that wipes anything even hive or taken out during the rounds your team does as much damage per second to the priest I recommend sniper rifles, machine guns, scout rifles, and auto rifles. (Take cover behind a glyph to survive the blast) To increase odds of success have weapons of light and nightstalker tether to maximize damage output. In addition you only have 4 rounds the last two of which consists of taken.

1 ReplyGet that scout rifle used to bump an auto rifle up (I've found far more effective in this raid) and use a high impact sniper to shoot the boss when the aura is active - WHAM BAM THANK YOU MAN I personally think this is the easiest part of the Raid, you might be better looking for a better team??

5 RepliesStep on plates once to bring out the beast All kill yellow knights in unison Look at giant glowing pillars Step on plate which corresponds with pillar glow Kill kill kill - red aura 1 enemy every 8 seconds don't die Kill kill kill - everyone else shoot priest ( weapons of light anyone ?) Hide in shade . Must kill in 3 -4 tries or auto wipe

Most important is to watch the timer, weaken them at 5 seconds if u don't trust yourself. And make sure the other 5 keep him staggered with snipers/heavy. This way he won't aoe kill u and you will have plenty of time to kill things. Only kill them at 2seconds to go. But you can weaken one earlier of needed

The Legend Himself (specifically Slayerage) is probably the best PvE player in the world. His guide will help you get it down.

How is a 298 scout shitty.... I went in blind with a 294 and did fine. My group knew no mechanics for the war priest but we beat it through experimenting, eventually we discovered how
-
Black spindle the -blam!- out of him. Should get him in two go's.
-
6 RepliesYou want to have the red aura then at ~2 seconds kill something, if you don't trust yourself assign 2 people at every platform and make sure you are with someone who knows how to use the Aura properly...if you don't have the Aura then shoot at him with all your heavy in one mag (no sword on this part of the raid), then do the same with your secondary (preferably a sniper), then keep hitting him with our primary. This method is good but you want to also have a bubble with Weapons or light, and a night stalker with the perk to extend the tetherings time

2 Repliesif you can't work the bubble well, just die with it and it will get passed to another person, when I say die with it, try to make the timer run out rather then being shot to death. then your teammates will revive you and you're all good.

3 RepliesHave you heard of YouTube ????

Edited by Sevencron: 9/29/2015 8:55:50 AMThere are a lot of videos on YouTube covering how to defeat the Warpriest. However, I can recommend Arekkz videos. He doesn't make it over complicated and his editing is among the best in the Destiny community. So, take four minutes watch the video and enjoy your fight!

I wouldn't worry about it mate, me and my clan spent about three hours on him last (our first time) and then it all clicked I took the aura all three times one of the members popped a bubble with weapons of light and everyone equipped there hardest hitting sniper rifles and let rip, it will stun lock the Warpriest (tethers help to). Then all I did was pop in and out of the bubble to down ads. The best advice is get a clan you can run with that has patience, not once did we complain in a wipe and we all had a good time. Good luck. Happy hunting Guardian.

It is pretty easy once you get the mechanics down. But many people will want to do it different ways. We went in with 6 players all around 292 and one was 288. We cleared him. Just need good team work.

26 RepliesEdited by Ghost J34: 9/29/2015 8:17:47 AMPeople telling you to die with the aura are as stupid as the people who kill Golgoroth with 1 bubble per gaze. Anyone who can't do these encounters the right way in normal mode has no business being there.
-
12 Replieswe don't even worry about hitting the ads when we do it, just let the person die and rotate, kill him on 4th time every time
-
If you don't want to be the guy with the aura just have someone else stand on the plate
-
Anyone telling you to just die in the aura is doing you and themselves no favours. When hard mode rolls round and there are no revives you'll all be struggling again and crying for nerfs. It's best to learn it properly now. Scouts are fine for the adds, that's what I use. It's just a case of making sure you've got one in your sights at all times, they spawn from the same places as during the first phase so keep your eye on those areas if you can't see any immediately In front of you. When I have the aura I don't bother with DPS, 5 people with snipers and WOL is more than enough to get him down to 1/3 or 1/2 in one run if you can keep the aura going.
-
Buy a decent auto rifle for adds. 280 attack will do it. Use a 290+ sniper rifle for dps along with weapons of light. Down in 3.
-
You need to find a new raid group also youtube works
-
You stand in the circles when your side is called out, then gather in the red tether circle and dps the boss. Avoid his gaze or whatever it's called. That's it mostly. If you get the circle then you have to kill adds so it doesn't run out.
-
Wait till it hits 3 secs, then kill an acolyte. Reduce the zoom on your gun if it's awkward.
-
The way my team went about using the red bubble is when the first person got it we hid behind the right pillar Then middle and then left. It was easier because we didn't have to worry about the enemies. Also don't worry about trying to keep the bubble up its best to just let whoever first gets it die and then so on because by the time the use for the bubble is over. You'll be able to revive everyone who died.
