Elephants in Halo 3:ODST Campaign
Would anyone else like a part in the story where you get to drive an elephant, because it would be really fun.

Considering you are presumably one of the only humans in the city an elephant could be odd, however in one of the flashbacks it could work. Elephants don't really shoot like a scarab so it may be a little hard to make it EP1C. [Edited on 06.20.2009 10:37 AM PDT]

Elephants -the vehicular kind- seem like a fun idea. It will probably make it into the game at some point. I've always hated driving an Elephant, but I can see the entertainment in being with a squad of ODST's, manning the side-guns, waiting to reach the battle. Surely New Mombasa has highways? In Halo 2, that first tunnel that led from Old Mombasa to downtown seems a bit right. Lots of room there.

At first I wouldn't think it would be logical for Elephants to be driven in the tight streets of New Mombasa. It would be kind of hard to manover in the city streets. Than I remembered the comment about zebras in a past weekly update. Do you think we get out of the city and onto the savana driving elephants to Voi? That would be sweet!

Also according to the other thread, they think that the Elephant in ODST is actually a garbage truck.

I think that the elephant in campaign would be better than the elephant in multiplayer. I mean, at least in campaign you dont get lasered from across the map.

Here is the list of vehicles that will never be in a Halo game. Vulture Cobra Wolverine Grizzly Vampire I'm just saying that because they are not Bungie's creation. It'd be cool to have an elephant in campaign though. They have to be one of my favorite vehicles.

I think elephants will be in the game AND I HAVE PROOF!!! ok, so its not concrete evidence, but its not a far strech either. If you watch the IGN halo 3 demo vids, there is a part where Hilary (what a fail name for a guy btw) jokes about using elephants to travse the city due. the Bungie guy (forgot his name, sorry) then references that as not far off from what will actually happen. my theory is that you WILL be able to use most, if not all, of the H3 vechicals to go around the city.

Elephant this and Elephant that! Has everybody forgotten our culture, our history? They should send the ODSTs into a fight on horseback! Imagine, the enemy fortifications crawling with covenant, the look on your face as you realise its hopeless and then a neigh to your left and a horse jumps out of a Pelican and hauls you to victory.
