Bungie is ridiculously talented and all its members are sexy. There you have it; now I may criticize your game freely without guilt. :) I'm extremely impressed with Halo 2, but I have managed to come across two main complaints thus far. Figured I'd voice my opinion in the small chance you might actually listen. First and foremost, I must say that the decision to take radar off of *all* head-to-head gametypes simply doesn't make sense to me. I generally don't have any problem with any particular game variation (including no radar), but this one just stands out like a sore thumb. One of the most intense and depth-producing aspects of a one-on-one battle is the motion-detector, move/countermove, attack/counterattack sort of dance between the two players. A move is made, seen on the radar, countered, and that move is countered, so on and so on... where it really becomes an insanely deep, tactical, strategic battle of wits between the two players to attempt to find the best point of attack. That kind of gameplay really hooked me on head-to-head matchmaking. But now it's gone. Not just in *some* gametypes... but in ALL. Completely wiped clean. No balance, no variation, nothing. As I played head to head matches without it, I realized that now it's more of a luck-based, hit-and-miss style of gameplay... where you just better hope you're facing the right direction at the right time. You're constantly at risk without any chance of defending yourself if the opponent just so happens to spawn or unintentionally run behind you at the right time. The only real way around that kind of danger is to get the first kill and hide in the corner, which is a completely lame way to play the game, obviously. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt too much to remove radar from such games like oddball, king, and bigger sized head to head maps like Ascension. But I strongly suggest you consider adding it back to some of the appropriate gametypes... it would bring head to head back to its former glory. My second complaint - the needler. I noticed in an old 2004 E3 video that its rate of fire was dramatically increased in order to revive it as a formidable weapon to wield. However, that move was clearly trashed. Why? The needler seems to have a laundry list full of drawbacks without any real benefit other than a weak lock-on feature. Not only does it have a damage delay (the time it takes for the needles to explode) giving the opponent that much more time to lay into you, its rate of fire is STILL extremely slow. So you fire your needles, some follow and some don't, then they take a while to reach your target, and once they do, they take ANOTHER while to actually do damage. In that span of time, you've probably been flattened by the other guns that DON'T have a damage delay and DON'T have a slow rate of fire. See my point? It just seems a bit too restrained to be a consistently effective weapon. And there are the complaints. The other 99% of the game is brilliant. You have my approval, as I'm sure you've been desperately waiting for it. :) Thanks for your time.

I accept the fact that sometimes you need to quit a game -- you shouldn't get banned for this. At the same time, quitting just because you don't like the map, or your losing, or for some other lame reason, does feel like cheating to me. I propose that if you quit a game, you are locked out of matchmaking for 5 minutes. If you REALLY had to quit, you don't care, because you are getting out of Halo2 and turning off your xbox, anyway. The 5 minute 'ban' doesn't affect you. But if you are quitting because you are lame, the 5 minute ban gives you something to think about. Hopefully, you'll realize that playing ANY game is better than playing NO game. Heck, maybe 5 minutes is too short -- the longest games go as much as 12 minutes, so maybe a 12 minute ban is appropriate. Training/custom games should be exempt, of course. [Edited on 5/20/2005]

I love the multiplayer in halo 2 i hope it wont decrease in goodness. Does any one know about this, ...Frankie ... anyone? I dont know much about the site and stuff but whoever answers the questions is an idiot I play Halo2 non-stop and every time i have played colususs and didnt get the sniper i got owned and im pretty good with a BR and Grenades and every time i got the sniper i won you should seriosly look into putting two snipers in the level and always making them covanent not enough shots in the human. Great update!!! But where's the screen shots of the new lvls?Since the lvls r finished. My friend works at a store that sells XBox magizines and sais that he's already seen all the new lvls with multiple screen shots. So come on i no u got them now put them up, pleaze, i'll give u a cookie :D O ya i thought standbyin didn't work for the standbyer any more... i got standbied today and the guy dare asked for me to join him so i wouldn't call feedback, but i told the guy to F*** off and stop cheating... He's still on the loose :(

I have to agree with you RYdawg7.......the needler is the most pathetic weapon in HALO 2 and just about any first person shooter out there. One needler is comepletely worthless. Double needlers are so-so. I wouldn't bet my flag on it but you can sometimes get a lucky kill with them. I have seen people do more killing with no scope sniping (with auto aim doing most of the work) kill more people than any double needler can.

Franky.... why am i getting booted for no reason.....i killed absolutely nobody on my team.....it happened to me 5 games in a row....im just walking around and then i get the message that says i have been booted from the game. Why does this happen?

I love your game Bungie.... I spend a lot of time playing it and I realize you guys just got done busting your butt off making this game and boom your right back on a new project *cough HALO 3 /Halo 2.5 /Halo 360 *cough.... (or whatever the hell you want to call it) we all know that it is a new halo that is the only thing you guys will ever make from now on seeing how you are now just MS slaves and it is your cash cow *cough* rip us off by charging for maps and then a DVD with "extras" *cough* But it seems to me like one thing would solve one of your largest problems with the cheating. Stop showing the number ranking in HALO 2. If you want to show it at the website fine, a lot of the 6.5 million people that bought your game do not visit your website and would care less about knowing there rank if it wasn't in your face. In your last update someone asked this question "If rankings aren't meant to be a trophy, why show people what their rankings are and why have leaderboards? you could keep everybody's rank hidden and still use it to match people up...." YOU didn't answer his question you dodged as you guys love to do. Why not try it out and see if it helps if statisticlly the cheating goes down. And would it be such a big deal to "PUNISH" people for quitting prematurely by dropping them down a lvl everytime they do it. Would that be such a big deal? Trust me if people knew they were going to be dropped down a LVL everytime they quit you would see a lot less of it. TRY IT DAMN IT!

One of my favorite parts of Campaign was running through it with a depleted plasma-sword. I wish you could do that in Multi-player. Sort of like a handicap option. Its a good skill-tester. New pics of maps???
