PS3 - Killzone 2
I don't care how much of a fanboy you are, these graphics are amazing. The gamespot article said these are [url=http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=5833&type=wmv]in game graphics.[/url]
My mind is blown.

And yes, that does look amazing, if a bit frenzied.

Killzone owns halo as it is.. so far it takes 13 bungie players a day..i dont belive it either.

Halo should be much more like the books and killzone 2 (not in graphic or scripting terms) I hate the balance crap we have in halo2, by making it balanced it supers things like the rocket and sniper.

Killzone 2 looks hawt, but i don't give too much about graphics, as long as they will improve the gameplay, get rid of all the stupid bugs and come up with a decent story, than yes, killzone will teh hawt

This is quite a 180 degree turn-a-round from the first Killzone (which [i]seemed[/i] too dark, clunky, and you couldn't jump). 17'll b3 t3h nex7 H4l0 OMGOMGWTF??!!!!

I agree with you that gameplay-wise it might not pull through and may only sit at an average first person shooter. However, if by some chance they manage to sustain that level of chaos for most of the game... it will be amazing. However, I doubt they will be able to; and that's not even mentioning the multiplayer aspect that Halo 3 could have. We may even see a psuedo MMORPG covies VS spartans.[/quote]Amazing! Scripted isn't technically a bad thing since it could always be an opening cinema. Seeing as how Halo 2 uses in-game graphics for all of its cutscenes, this could be from the game. I can't wait to see what developers do with the new hardware. This new technology is mind blowing compared to 20 years ago.

Indeed. Odds are both will come out about even. The existing fanbases (that'd be us) won't decide much. I'll probably buy both consoles and hope I don't get so absorbed I don't f-up college. One way or another, I'd like to see some hotly contested competition, and therefore get a few good discounts for a lot of quality. Go Microsoft? Go Sony? Screw that... [b]Go GAMERS![/b]

It all depends on when the PS3 comes out. At the moment it's distant 2006, and the Sony E3 presenttion seemed like a "smoke and mirrors" thing compared to the more tangible Xbox 360 presentation. Killzone 2 does look awesome though, and if they get it to play like that, then it's almost certainly going to be the top shooter (till Halo 3 *hopes*) :-D

However, Microsoft wants to come out [i]on top[/i], and with a powerhouse PS3 lumbering just six months after the 360 release Microsoft might be hard pressed to do so. In the best of situations both companies come out even. It's the battle for supremacy that forces both companies to do their absolute best. If Sony and Microsoft stay deadlocked we win - only if you can transcend the fanboyism.

looks good, but when you see clips like that you have to realize thats only what the developers want the game to look like.....The games rarely ever look quite as good as they would like...

Yes it was nice, and if in-game, it looks like that, I'm dumping the xBox and getting a PS3. After I get Halo 3 on neXtBox. Anyway, you see how it faded to the game title at the end? TOTAL SCRIPT. It was all too seamless.

I hope those were in game or this generation could be dissapoining.I think sony may have avoided being caught with its pants down this time round. At least 6.5million people will buy xbox360 though just to find out what happens to master chief next so microsoft isnt compleatly screwed.

If you guys care to remember the Halo 2 Release trailer, with all the ultra kick ass dynamic lighting, and graphics as sharp as Japanese Steel, you'll remember what happened .02 seconds later when someone at Bungie said, "Uh, -blam!-... we really can't do these graphics, the Xbox will Xplode." On a side note, here's two jokes: [*]A guy walks into a bar. Ouch. [*]A Sony walks into Halo 3. Holy crap, we did [i]not[/i] need to see that much gore there. Yeah I'm open minded about the PS3 too. You can watch the entire Sony E3 conference and over 12 amazingly gorgeous PS3 releases at http://gamespot.com just click "watch it" next to the PS3 EXPLOSION ad. Ps3s hardware so far > Xbox 360s hardware
