Well if you want bullet drop they want to make it realistic they would need to do that for all weapons... Shotguns have a range of 100 -250 yards with slugs 35-50 yards with buckshot... Pistols have a accuracy of 100 yards... Depending on the bullet it would take about 500-1000 yards to be able to tell there is a bullet drop. Then you have to add the in rise of the bullet at the beginning. There is not a single map on there that you could shoot far enough to notice a bullet drop. and yes snipers don't have much upwards recoil on. The way the muzzle brakes are out the side and up and down to help keep the barrel right where it was.
