Official Feedback on The Taken King - The Crucible

The one about the Crucible. You have already gotten a taste of the new PVP maps and gametypes the past week. I wanted to continue to monitor your feedback with what you like and don't like about Rift, Mayhem, and the new maps. Now you will start to see new Subclasses out in the wild, how are they fitting into the PVP meta? Give me your thoughts on all things PVP, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

  • [b]Subclasses[/b] They seem to fit right in. I see people complaining about Sun Breaker being OP, but i disagree. I've managed to take them out a few times. ( i suck at crucible FYI) [b]Maps[/b] New maps are fun, and interesting. My favorite by a mile is vertigo. I've really nailed down a good rift and control strat for these maps. I think these maps were purpose built, some play really well in rift while others are just awful for the gamemode. Some play nice in control while others are lacking. Every map plays clash/rumble/etc well. Objective based game modes are a bit spotty, maybe looking at the placement of the spark, or control points will help. Overall however it's fun, and i'm liking it. (Even though i generally hate stepping foot in the crucible, and mostly still do) [b]Modes[/b] Rift is great. It's a nice change. I didn't play mayhem, but will next time i see it. I've heard chatter about Zone Control. I'm looking forward to that game mode. [b]Weapons[/b] This is the most variety i've ever seen. It's great. Don't listen to the pulse rifles are OP cry babies. I just don't see it. Every weapon has a role. I just build for my style and it's working. Been using hand cannons, auto rifles for games where i know i'll be close the the enemy, and pulse rifles and scouts for long range flag defense in control. I'm enjoying not having to carry around the thorn just to be competitive. Balance is very close. Shotguns are still pissing me off, but eh we can't get everything i guess. I've got counters, i just hate them. [b]The bad?[/b] Unkillable lag lords are still a problem. Just yesterday i killed a stormcaller. No problem right? I survived and was running the spark in rift. My team was with me, I was closing in on a completely unguarded rift (because enemy team was running around playing team death match) Then i died, for literally no reason. Said i was killed by storm trance by a dead guy on the other side of the map. You're kidding right? The crucible can't even begin to actually be competitive if these issues are still running rampant. It's just stupid. People teleporting all over the place, taking several hits from golden gun/blade dance/nova bomb/Fist of Havoc/Hammer of Sol/ Shadow shot/ and so on. It's dumb, and ultimately makes the crucible in general un-enjoyable. The only reason i'm playing it right now is for marks, and bounties. I've seen many close games lately, so that's nice. I been seeing more completely one sided matches. That's not fun, even if i'm winning. TTK (Time to Kill) is still wildly variable, which I just personally don't like. It may not be a problem with the game, just something i don't enjoy. [b]Final Verdict[/b] The changes are really good, the new maps and modes are really fun. Weapon balance seems better. The things I really hate about the crucible are still there. (Lag, wildly variable TTK, completely one sided matches) Thank god they break up teams after a severe ass whipping. So my opinion is.... Meh. It's better, just not enough to make we WANT to play it, right now i just NEED to for bounty completion and Legendary Marks. I hope you read this, and let me know what you think.
