Simple question.
DeeJ said in an interview that he doesn't want us to look at our favorite weapon and consider it obsolete. I look at my Ballerhorn, Thorn, Dragon's Breath and...they're obsolete. Just a poll to see where the community stands. Bump so Cozmo can see.
Edit: Woke up to a billion notifications. Thanks for all the feedback. But you guys that say "Oh, well no because gjally never left my heavy slot." That's your own fault. There were plenty of decent heavies in Year One. You guys were too chickenshit to try them. Thunderlord and Dragon's Breath, in many cases, can do just as much damage as Gjally can, if not more. Especially post 2.0. And I don't care if Gjally stays in my inventory for the next ten years, I have a story with a weapon I love.
Edit 2: Seeing a lot of people being open to the idea, but leaving Gjallarhorn behind. In all honesty, I'm completely fine with this. Gjallarhorn is an amazing weapon, but it's lethality was ridiculous. As long as I can have all my other exotic weapons and armor, I'll be fine. Keep bumping and commenting! We've been trending for a while! Get Cozmo to see and comment on this!

At least the mida. Cmon Bungie, you know you want to
-
Well, Deej failed, because the ones that are up to year two damage feel obsolete. Am I the only one who used Thorn for PvE?? Now, Thorn is pretty much useless for that because of its damage. No, its not because of the "nerf," its because it can hardly touch an enemy past the 220 "light" (maybe for enemies it should be "darkness?") level. Cant use it for daily heroic or the raid.
-
We got to use Lord of Wolves for one DLC. Then TTK made the gun unusable.
-
I think all those y1 weapons should be upgradeable I grinded for hours getting those exotics I do however think that there should be quests linked to how you upgrade them instead of people just using one of there thousands of exotic shards to upgrade them it was an interesting way for bungie to separate us from our ghorns but at the end of the day we all worked damn hard for those guns and deserve to be able to use them when and where we want without a penalty to damage and light level
-
Nah, Im enjoying trying different weapons, makes the game more fun
-
Only Mida and the queens weapons
-
All of them? Nah. Some info want are like Pocket Infinity, Dragon's Breath, Super Good Advice, Lucky Raspberry and Lord of Wolves.

Edited by EoS: 9/22/2015 7:39:03 PMGjallarhorn Listen, I love Gjallarhorn just as much as anyone, but no one can deny that this gun singlehandedly made Destiny too easy to play. Just evaluate your experience with TTK thus far. How much fun have you had actually fighting bosses now instead of just blowing them to hell with Gjallarhorn? Guardians are actually working together now, chaining supers, making callouts, watching each other's backs, working together to decipher raid mechanics. Destiny is more fun without Gjallarhorn. It should never return. Ever. I hope Bungie never brings it back. Edit: the only things should be allowed to return are Year One cosmetic items like Bonds, Marks, and Cloaks. We should be allowed to infuse them at the most.

All gear should be brought up.
-
Only exotics, I'm happy legendaries aren't.
-
No. I am SO glad that most of the year 1 weapons are obsolete. Too many people in this game were riding the thorn/icebreaker/gally train. Now that people don't have their gally crutch, it makes the game more interesting and eliminates that godawful "MUZT HAV MAX GALLY" crap in LFG that was so rampant the first year. Cheers, bungie. You fixed your game.
-
Part of me wants, but then another part knows and realizes that ice breaker is just too good.
-
Some more should be added like umm I dunno THE RAID EXOTICS
-
I would love to see a way to bring them up to spec, but other than my boots of Eao and Red Death (oh, and Hunger of Crota, just to shoot Oryx for good measure) that I only enjoyed for a few weeks prior to 2.0, I couldn't care less. I'm enjoying finding new and better stuff every time I play. I'd like to see more purple drops though.
-
I miss my multi tool T-T
-
Just Hardlight. Auto Rifles get buffed and the rounds are made more apparent when ricochetting. Only got to enjoy that for a couple weeks before TTK.
-
Edited by Skarwind: 9/22/2015 4:58:29 PMI want them back but I'm okay with a "rebalance" because some of them were very powerful compared to the year 2 guns. I remember at some point before CE came out that Deej said the exotics would be a part of our journey that would continue on with us but now it seems like that idea was canned. I can live without them but I feel like it would be nice to see them return, even if they were changed slightly to fit the current gameplay.
-
I'm excited to see some new exotics. It keeps the game fresh with new gear and new strategies to use. I do miss some of the year ones, but I'm having so much fun with the new ones.
-
I'm on the fence leaning towards no. It would be nice to see them at year 2 attack, but it's better seeing people use different weapons now.
-
Who can honestly say the game was not getting stale seeing and using the same old weapons. I do miss my VoC but part of the fun with TTK is the search fir new weapons. Loving my new Dead Orbit scout at the moment.
-
Y1 legendaries. Ascend one for 20 strange coins. Thoughts?
-
Maybe not all at once but over time would be pretty cool
-
No. Makes it way too easy
-
No, i enjoy the refreshed game state, where you can use almost anything you want to get the good job, there is no gjallerhorn leading the way or becoming the requirement, instead you find what you like and use it. I miss some exotics and im glad some of my favourites made it through (obs mind, voidfang and red death), but i would have found my way even if they didn't.

I'm more worried about my yellow armour...
