I said this in reply to another post, but I have a suspicion that bungie intentionally did this. One of the memories we have from year 1 was the loot cave. Congrats, this is year 2's loot cave. They'll let us play for a bit and then add a cooldown period in a patch. There is absolutely 0 chance they could possibly be so dumb as to forget that checkpoints next to bosses exist. I know DEEJ is a filthy casual, but they do have people who play the game working for them. At start of year 3, there will be something else for cheese farming, but everyone who played year 2 will remember how we got 20 of the same exotic from 3oC.

Cheating is a bit strong. Exploit is better. And no, it isn't a bad thing. Bungie took a giant steaming piss on our progress by not allowing us to upgrade exotics. Not only that, they added insult to injury be making us spend legendary marks to buy them. I say exploit away!!! Get mileage out of this while you can.

Really all they have to do is re purpose it. Make it so that it only procs on strike/raid bosses. And at least it would be nice if they fixed the issue where the psion flayers don't count as ultras with 3oC

2 RepliesGo ahead and "fix" it. There are plenty of places to grind for sublime engrams without the three of coins so I don't care. Finding legendary weapons and armor with good perks is better than duplicate exotics I already have.

In direct response to feedback from the first year of Destiny from players who wanted more direct paths to acquiring exotic items, we chose to move many Year Two exotics out of the engram pool to allow players to identify and earn their preferred gear via quests and world drops. That means there is a select lineup of exotic gear available through engrams, and through Xur, which can repeat if players are gathering dozens of exotic engrams using Three of Coins. Throughout the year, we’ll be adding more exotic gear for players to collect, as well, and we’ll be monitoring feedback to determine the right balance between random rolls and direct paths to Year Two gear. Only hurting themselves

19 RepliesIt's an exploit, not a cheat [b]exploit:[/b] make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource). [b]cheat:[/b] act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage. Using the Three of Coins to get exotics via mission bosses is how it was intended. Dying with the boss to restart the mission just before the boss fight itself is just making full use of the system to benefit from quick loot drops. It's not dishonest nor is it unfair as anyone can do it. Please learn the difference before you come to the forums to complain about a system that is working fine

It's not a cheat. The three of coins is used for getting exotic drops. How people choose to do that is their business and I think that you should mind yours

Who caress shut up and mind your own business. This game hates me with drops so if I can use which I did and bought 35 coins and guess what I got 3 exotics. Bungie knows about this and currently doesn't care. So why do you care so much.

Just don't do. When they have every new exotic 2 weeks In and complain about having nothing else to do. It's their own fault. Just play the way you wanna play and let them do there what they do. I'm assuming a nerf to the coins will be out soon anyway

Nothing is being cheated. It's an ultra enemy- three of coins grants exotic engram drop chance on ultras. It's working as intended. Exotics are just another layer of loadout setup beyond class choice and skill tree, not about rarity.

8 RepliesThis is just like the loot cave. It's not the player's fault that Bungie overlooked this GLARING loophole. They should have made the coins only drop exotics from higher level bosses. Really simple. The fact that Bungie didn't even think of this until the players responded, is another example of their poor product testing. Once again, you can't blame the players here. Bungie needs to do a better job of checking for exploits before releasing their product.
