Being a hard-core computer geek I just notice these small thing somehow, gess it's cuase I have a friend who has an intranet setup at home with a server (with about 4 hard - drives and a backup tape disk) set-up as the main computer (it's crazy I know). The world needs more dynamic network systems I think. Oh and The dead chapter I was refuring to was Australian Halo Land (The site is 2 years old and hasn't been visited for about 2 years).

They REALLY don't want to mess with the server at the moment. It's dying a slow death. However, automatic chapter removal will be available in the Column's new hotness (previously, we only had manual removal).

Ask about dead chapters ay? Well... I found one for my local area and the founder left long ago. There is absolutely No one there, no members, no staff. I can tell that it is scince the founder is labeled as NoPass port 46400. I think that alot of server space will be freed up if they recyciled dead chapters.

Good points, there are TONS of chapters out there... Most with barely more than one or two members. Join them and get your feet wet. You'll be able to make your own chapter soon enough. And you can protest all you want... it's not going to change anything. Achronos will deliver the new community hotness to us all when he is ready.

A chapter is a small club for members of Bungie.net and the 7th Column to join. A chapter enjoys having databases, a private forum, and news among other things. Like I said before, members should just be able to contact Bungie and see if they can have an old dead chapter and just bring it back to life for there use. Though the Server might not like it very much...

Just join one of the thousands that are around right now...it's not like there is a shortage.

This could be good for existing chapters. Now that people who want to make their chapter really active are getting members and people that want to found a really active chapter are joining chapters, both are kind of getting what they want. Join any chapter and treat it as if it was yours. Be active, post news, events, etc. and you may become staff there.
