I purchased the Taken King DLC (40$) via the in-game prompt on the Director yesterday (09-15-15 5:05 AM EST) thinking that I could buy the Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade for 20$ afterwards. Unfortunately, it wasn't available on the XBox Marketplace or on the Director so I contacted Microsoft to get a refund, wich they gave me, in order to pick the 60$ Collector's Edition instead. I deleted the Taken King files in my XBox 360 storage, cleared the system cache and started the game. I thought that it would lead to a new in-game prompt to purchase the right edition this time but I was mistaken. I still have access to The Taken King content (for free). I'm not a thief and I want the collector's edition items. I don't know why we couldn't pre-order the DLC or why it isn't available via the XBox Marketplace like all the other 360 games out there. All I know is that I'm willing to spend 60$ + taxes on a DLC but I can't figure out a way to do it! Can you do something for me Bungie?
