I was dumbfounded when I tried to use Nebula Glow on my titan and couldn't. The biggest slap in the face was that previewing it on my titan WORKS. This means that the shader doesn't do anything unique to hunters. They simply put it behind an artificial class lockout that has no business being there. Honestly, that shader was why I got the collectors edition and it's useless. This needs to be fixed and the idea of class specific shaders should never be revisited.

  • My thoughts exactly. Being able to preview the shaders on the classes I wanted them on kills me a little inside. It may not be a huge deal to most people, but I've wanted a particular shader look since before the game came out, and to finally have them available to me only to be denied by a ridiculous artificial lockout is devastating. Not to mention a $20 hole in my wallet lol...c'mon guys...

  • It does suck.... But if you got the collectors edition that was 99$ for one shader than you're a little crazy

  • I got the physical edition for the strange coin so I could have that along with my Ghost Edition. The problem is that the dlc, which was valued at 20 dollars as stated in the initial post, is borderline useless. I paid 5 dollars for a CoD preorder and got a blacksmith shader that works on all classes last year. I guess for all three shaders to work on all classes along with the other digital stuff, they would have charged 40 then? I should have known better than to assume a mechanic that has never been applied to an item type over the course of an entire year would have suddenly been enforced for no good reason. I guess it's entirely my fault.

  • There are a few shaders that look very similar to it though. Lots of the queens ones do

[EDIT] Opps, Ferrod already said it, my bad :x I've got the queen's shaders. Had them for a year, they don't look good with my Titan's current gear, but the Nebula shader was perfect since it was black and purple. And I wlways wanted a purple and black Titan.. right now the shader looks horrible on my Hunter, which ironically is my fav class. X.x

  • Oh I totally understand. I got it too. The strange coin is awesome. The shaders are class specific because they apply to the colours of the new subclasses which is kinda cool. It's not entirely your fault, I don't think they really stated that the shaders were class specific anyway, which sucks. It just seemed like your initial post seemed like you got it just for the shader. I'm on your side ps

  • Right right. Being sarcastic or facetious doesn't come off very well in text, so no problem. I've had the Queen's Wrath shaders since the first Queen's Wrath event occurred back last September. Back then I was like, I wish there was a shader for the titan that had purple armor like Jester Apogee but a black body suit. Yet it never came around. Then when I saw that show up in the destiny tracker preview and furthermore found out it was in the collector's edition, which I had already preordered, I was pretty excited. The real problem is that since the color scheme exists now as a class specific shader, what are the chances of another shader coming out that is identical but works on the titan? I say close to zero. So my only chance is if they realize how bad a design decision this is because it ostracizes their community and it gets fixed. The fact that this even generated a discussion shows that it shouldn't have happened. If they didn't class lock the shaders, literally no one would have said "Gee. I wish they made this brown sunbreaker shader specific to sunbreakers. That would be so cool for the lore." It literally adds no value at all.
