Yes there is hardly anything to do this week but the foundation has been placed for TTK. Once it arrives (if you bought it) there will be plenty to do. Arms day will deliver weapons that you tested, new quests and bounties which will give xp and legendary marks, all existing crucible and vanguard marks will be converted into commendations for faction rep. Pre order bonuses such as Suros arsenal early access, shaders etc will be available. It looks as though there will be varying difficulties for patrols on existing planets too. I am quite looking forward to it despite being on holiday from 12-19th. Forgot to mention, year 1 players (myself included) could not reasonably be given something awesome as that would give them an edge over new players which, as a company wanting profit, is exactly what Bungie/Activision need to attract. Again forgot to mention, the level cap is still 34 until 9/15 when TTK arrives. Until then xp gain probably only counts towards a mote of light as before. The cryptarch sells nothing yet as he would be selling year 2 weapons a week early. The same goes for faction packages and any quest which rewards year 2 gear. You most likely will not receive the reward (or you will and it will be locked out) until 9/15. Faction packages cannot reward much this week as again they should be rewarding year 2 gear including a guaranteed legendary item. Hope this helped a little and feel free to ask anything more specific.

  • Ok, so I ran a little test and have decided that playing the game now for leveling is a waste of time. The first few gunsmith tests and collecting a full bank of bounties to be run on Tuesday are best to do now. And a peek at the new crucible maps. I have two titans and a warlock - one Titan will collect all the super easy crucible bounties while the others collect the pve bounties. The one with the crucible bounties will farm for engrams in pve whilst the other two farm in the crucible. I ran through 6 pve bounties tonight and racked 10K+ XP, having 16 for tuesday is quick bank, don't do your bounties now, save them! Same for the abandoned missions, save them all Tuesday for the quest/bounty XP. Those and the as yet unrevealed Strike play lists look to be the quickest way to XP/lvl up. Also, any engram I collect between now and Tuesday gets stuffed in the vault for random drops at the cryptarch. That's my plan and thanks for the helpful reply again!

  • Thanks, that sums it up nicely.
