Honestly felt like I had just picked up the game for the first time, not something I have been playing for a year, which is disappointing. I think TLW nerf went too far, understand the effective range was broken, but now it just feels ineffective even if it still feels/handles the same way. Thorn has been balanced nicely. I haven't used Hawkmoon yet, but friends say it's the best of the three exotic hand cannons. Coincidently it is also the one I use/used the least. Just feels a bit of a meh weapon compared to unloading massive damage at short range with TLW or the DoT from Thorn, which works at much the same range as Hawkmoon. I think shot gun range hasn't been nerfed enough. I personally think they should do even more damage but at much shorter range e.g. Lord of wolves or 4th horseman range and shot spread further to benefit hip fire in those real in your face moments. I think testament to this is the fact I had my best game in rift running Universal Remote and Matador this evening. Speaking of rift, genuinely not enjoying it. It's a shotgun fest so not much varied play. Heavy spawns in too quickly and frequently for this game mode. The spawns are pretty shitty too, which combined with spawn killing opponents leaves me want to smash my pad. Not sure I will go back to it any time soon. The auto rifle buff is good, but their resurgence is worrying, considering how we have had to adapt to a play style that Bungie has implemented upon us in previous updates. Pulse rifles still feel good, so the adjustments haven't ruined them, which also applies to the exotic pulse rifles. Just get rid of field scout, it now feels pretty pointless as a year 1 player. I know NLB is meant to be that fun snap shot sniper, but being head shot sniped on the fly at 10m is a bit excessive and doesn't feel right or a natural choice of weapon at the that distance, which is more hand cannon territory IMO. I stick by my first statement, it didn't feel right coming in as a veteran feeling like everything was completely new (and not in a good way). Subtle changes to specific issues would have been better for weapon balancing rather than throwing everything in the air and hoping all the pieces would just fall into place, because they clearly haven't, even if there are a few that did land perfectly.

  • Agree with alot of that, Except Lord Of Wolves thing. LoW has a deceptively long range despite the rating given. It can out range many shotguns now. Couldnt tell ya about Hawkmoon, Xbox player. I would like to see Shot Package and Range Finder on shitguns removed, along with Grenades and Horseshoes on legendary rocket luanchers and clown cartridge. Players get to much heavy ammo, to quickly. Ideally, I would like to see matches start with only Primary Ammo, players fight to control special ammo crate spawns, which they use to control heavy ammo spawns. But thats my opinion.

  • Fair enough, I haven't used LoW enough to notice that, I just remember using it for the first time in crucible, ADS and shooting someone square in my sights at range well within matador range and not landing a single shot on them. However the stated range on the aforementioned shotguns should be standard range for all shotguns to emphasise the risk/reward play associated with them. When you get your hands in a Hawkmoon you'll know what I mean. It is probably a beast now but only because of nerfing TLW and Thorn more than any other hand cannon. Total agree about heavy weapons, especially in highly charged game modes such as Rift, it takes an element of skill away from the game. Rift does just feel like a shotgun free for all run and gun, when it was being hyped as a tactical and coordinated game mode. Nope, shotguns are still too effective to allow tactical play.

  • Problem being it was all played at E3 and The Youtuber tourney with TTK weapons which are definately more balanced I suppose.
