I'm purposefully not disassembling my fatebringer, some vanilla lmgs, my efrideets spears, or vision because at some point they might allow total ascension.

This^ I have the same feeling that they will allow ascension in the future. It would be a cunning ploy to "seem" like they actually listen and care to the community. Plus then they could make a big show about allowing yr1 ascension. Like they did with HOW
