Mr. Fruit's View on Titans and Class Balancing

Titans should be buffed (I am a Titan)

Titans should be buffed (I am not a Titan)

EDIT: Please ignore the poll, I accidentally posted it unfinished and now I can't change it.
As to all those who don't believe that Titans are the worst, and are trying to refute me. I could spend a whole video talking about it, but almost every point you all bring up - the other classes either have it built-in, or an exotic that outclasses it. Bubblebro is priceless in PvE. But for PvP, Titans are just at a clear disadvantage. As a person who has used every class, and every subclass, and has most time put into a Titan this is the consensus I've come to. Thankfully it looks like Sunbreaker is going to change things for Titans in PvP, but let's look at it realistically: Slowest agility : Yes you can use the "triple" tap jump to speed around, but it's not intuitive to most and it's not always practical to run around doing it in PvP and in a gunfight, you don't have the same speed to strafe or even run away - not to mention blink is just a get out of jail free card. It's so easy to avoid supers, heavies etc with blink, but titans can't get away so even overall titan's k/d usually don't match up with the other classes. It's the "TANKY" class : We're supposed to be the frontline, however even when we max our armor out we only have 1 more health than a hunter in PvP I believe, and are tied with Warlocks. The Ram alone gives Warlocks like 22 more health in PvP which is insane. Melee : We're supposed to be the melee class, but it's a fact our melee is the worst. No range to it. Hunters are above it especially with blink strike glitch, and the warlock is just a mile ahead of them both. Yes we have shoulder charge, but as you can see it's pretty easy to counter if you know what you're up against and titans also have to usually prep for shoulder charge beforehand knowing when it'll be up after sprinting, and how long it'll be up. Supers: The Fist of Havoc is situational, rarely nets several kills, and you almost feel punished for using it at times because it always seems like you need to save it for a cluster, which rarely seems to happen. Warlocks have the same thing in the form of Nova Bomb, which they can send from a safe distance. Hunters have a super that pretty much guarantees 2-4 kills every activation. Exotics: Yes the Saint-14 is great... in PvE. It can help occasionally in PvP, but using bubblebro in PvP is already putting you at a disadvantage. Ruin Wings are bugged and only useful for PvE. Arma is great for two grenades which can help, but warlocks have that perk built into their subclass already. Pretty much any other exotic is completely niche, or just offers a perk that's already in your subclass. Feedback fences? It tickles the enemy, I've gotten 1 kill across my hours of playtime using it. PvP you just have nothing that really helps, and so I often use Inmost light just because it lets me take 2 skills for my super. You can all sit here and argue on and on about it, but I can say without a doubt that Bungie is sitting on data that backs up exactly what I'm saying - especially PvP. I talked to Luke Smith and Mark about this while I was at bungie for hours on end. The Titans just don't have anything they really shine at, except for being the staple for most PvE encounters with the Bubble. They told me they're aware of it and are always looking at ways to fix it. So fingers crosses, but even Bungie knows Titans are a notch down from the others. The bubble is near useless in PvP because it can't protect against supers, you can't use it as a reactive defense because everything bursts it. Anyway like I said I could go on and on and on about this because as someone who wants the Titans so badly to be really good, it hurts to realistically look at it and know that we're just not at the same tier with the current build. I'm not going to respond to the comments to this because it won't get us anywhere, you're always free to disagree. /rant
-Mr. Fruit This comment can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrH5FmnCm8c This is probably the best argument for class balancing I've seen in a long time. The video (Specifically the first round) shows the clear disadvantages that the Titan has in the melee department, even with shoulder charge. And in the round where they were all using an auto rifle, Mr. Fruit absolutely crushed Blue and Rhabby, so he's likely more skilled than them, but in the other rounds in this series it doesn't look like it because abilities were allowed in those rounds. Other Thread with more evidence: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/147725199/0/0 Statistics thread: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/151174823/0/0 Tell me if you agree or disagree, and if you do disagree please give a valid argument rather than "Fist of Havoc/Shoulder Charge/Lightning Grenades is/are OP" or at least give some form of evidence to prove it. Thanks for Reading!

  • Although he defender Titan isn't great in trials and I prefer striker for trials... In regular pvp like iron banner, the defender is the only class that has the ability to generate their super while their super is active plus they can buff the entire team with their choice of offensive or defensive buffs. If you choose WoL then it will be like your entire team is running final round and that is one pretty crazy phenomenon for pvp. Also it is the only class that has the ability to easily deal with supers other than killing them via suppression grenades. The Titan has a lot of niche perk that allow it to perform roles other classes can't... IMO hunter is the worst class and Titans don't really need a buff. PS: Don't hate on me hunters

  • I like Mr Fruit, but this is just crazy talk. Striker Titan is the absolute bane of my life in PvP. Fist of havoc is insane, kills me when I'm 30ft above it. Kills me when I'm running away from it. Kills me when I'm at work and I'm not even playing.

      • Shoulder charge can one hit almost anything. It doesn't really have a cool down so you can technically run arround the whole map running over players. They got an exotic pair of boots that can FALCON KICK supers out of existence. Radiance? Not with these boots. Bubbles? I got a knee that would like to disagree. Fist of havok, nova bomb? Try to summon it faster than I can break your jaw with these fabulous crystal accented booties. Blade dancer/ gun slinger? You'll basically have a Mexican standoff, because you can kick them before they get you (which usually, you can) depending on your reaction speed. Do any other guardian have a one hit k/o ability besides a grenade? Nope. Fist of havok is as op as nova ball And the titan shield, coupled with the right exotic armor, can do serious damage, and it's super viable in team oriented PvE. Titans are underpowered? Plz.

        • Lol you know what's funny? I'm pretty sure it's what type of player you are... For example... All throughout destiny I've been maiming a hunter and feel in love with that clad sandalwood made a warlock and Titan afterwards for more loot... Well guess what.... Check my Trials KD for both my hunter and Titan... I did flawless with my Titan... I'm vastly superior with my Titan than hunter But I still play hunter more weird.. I'm slowly leaning towards Titan though... I think striker is fine where it is and the Melee too.... Defender could use a bit more interesting perks... But it's.... Decent

        • I on the other hand, think titans are the best. We are the fastest class and have very OP subclasses. Run high agility and momentum and you'll fly across the map like nothing! We have lighting grenades, (OP) FoH, (OP) and shoulder charge (OP) don't even wanna talk about how good suppressor grenades are! Incoming blade dancer, GG, radiance or another titan bubble? Suppressor grenade. And don't forget about that stupid ass bubble method in crucible! (I'm not one of those guys) The only flaw titans have is their short melee and their supers not having range either. But you know what! Sumbreaker will come and awww shiet man we gon be TOO OP.

        • actually I have countered the shockwave perk ( I think that's the one where a wave of energy moves out from your Fist of Havoc) with bubble because I put it up right in time it depends on how you play with the supers but everything else yeah... atlas we get to punch (pretty badass)

        • I feel like they will be getting a lot more options with that new sub-class, however in PvE Titans are great, the bubble is fantastic and striker is honestly just fun in PvE. Im not an avid PvP player by any means but it doesn't take rocket science to see the huge advantages that the hunter and warlock both have over a Titan with mobility and super both being valid reasons as to why they have these advantages. But I wouldn't say Titans need a buff. Datto ( a big destiny YouTuber for those who don't know) mains a Titan and has plenty of videos of him going Flawless in trials on different weeks. So it's not like a Titan is completely under powered by any means.

        • Whether or not Titans are underpowered is honestly a toss up for me. I play a titan as my main and sometimes i feel at a disadvantage and other times not. I will say this though of all the classes i feel like titans whine the least on the forums compared to people who main warlocks and hunters.

        • Actually I do better on my titan with Fist of panic, shoulder charge and really any gun, than I do with my warlock and my hunter. Also I've killed people through walls with FoP and I can't on my warlock or hunter supers. I prefer my titan for crucible and my warlock for pve. And hunters I just don't care much for

        • I've played a Titan in crucible for a while and my kd is horrid. I decided to try my hand at a Hunter. Bam. My kd was double my titans right away. That really tells the story

        •
This is probably the best argument for class balancing I've seen in a long time.
OMG, I've been saying this crap for the last year. It takes Mr. Fruit to get the point across? That aside, yes... Titan's top 3 reasons we suck on all PvP leaderboards 1. melee 2. blink 3. super

        • I don't know if Titans need a buff but I do know that the Titan melee is the one I whiff the most. Hunter melee- kill. Warlock melee- kill. Titan melee- whiff, whiff, whiff, gotcha!

          • If you can't get multi kills with FoH then that is a problem with your play style. Same applies to anyone thinking bladedancers, gunslingers and sunsingers are hard to kill.

            • Titans should NOT be buffed. NEITHER should warlocks. The ONLY thing I would change about subclasses is that a gunslinger has no shield.

                • When Destiny was first released the classes seemed to sound drastically different, but now that the games been out for a while, a non-tanky turtle with no special talent or long range capabilities has no chance against cross map abilities and self regeneration.

Mr. Fruitcup obviously doesn't know how to play a titan. Everyone has a preference when it comes to classes. Opinions...they matter.
