So I played quite a bit of the Blops 3 beta this past week on the PS4 and my connection to that game was consistently great. My ping was low and my bars were green. Life was good. So I can't figure out why my connection is consistently "meh" when I play Destiny. For whatever reason, when I play a 6v6 game mode there is a decent chance that I lag. However, when I play ToO, my connection is great (for the most part). Rumble is pretty lag-free too. I know that you said the matchmaking for ToO is purely based off of latency and not skill. So by you guys saying that I kinda took that as "there is skill-based matchmaking in normal crucible". If that's the reason why my connections are so much better in ToO then please apply that to every crucible game mode. I know I read that you guys were making changes to the matchmaking in the upcoming patch. Hopefully that helps. I know that skill-based matchmaking is intended to try and make games fair but when many people are lagging because of it, games really don't end up being fair.

Blops3 shit all over destiny. I wasn't gonna buy another cod after advanced but I gave it a try during the beta. I was reminded how dedicated servers felt. It was glorious.

Destiny is a data hog. It gobbles up bandwidth. Once anyone in your lobby experiences an issue it bogs the rest down. Also as has been noted, they use different systems to connect.

1 ReplyThe main reason is BO3 is a hybrid dedicated server farm with peer to peer connection while Destiny is a pure peer to peer host connection. There are HUGE differences in the two
