I have been a fan of the dark tower series since I first picked up the gunslinger 12 years ago. As excited as I was too think about a film adaptation at the time, the more of the books I read, the more I realized they could not be accurately transitioned to the big screen. I'm kind of shocked that king sold movie rights. The plan is for a movie dual directed by Ron Howard and some foreign guy with Javier Bardem as Roland. It will be followed by a television series that leads into a second movie, a second TV series, and a third film. I don't know what to think. Honestly, if the project was under different direction I'd be more apt to jump on a hype train. I have mixed feelings about Javier (I like the guy but I always imagined Clint Eastwood, who's too old, or Bruce Campbell). What do you all think?
