That is definetly not hypocritical.Bungie put it there as a easter egg for people that searched around the map and rewarded them with easy access to the next section of the level. Now, finding a glitch thats allows people to find a way to climb up the credit, its not cheating but restarting checkpoints is not what bungie had in mind when they put the target locator there.
