Between my 3 characters, I've never used blink. Titan doesn't have it, played gun slinger on my hunter, and never used it for my void walker warlock. Decided to level up my blade dancer and unlocked blink. Tried to use it in IB and holy shit is it tough. Props to all you guys that make teleporting around killing everything in sight look easy. Any tips for a blink noob?

Guy's right about momentum. If you hit the blink before the peak of your jump, the momentum carries you up. On the fall it carries you down. At the peak of a jump you'll zip straight. Looking kinda helps too. If you're looking in a direction, you'll sorta blink in that direction. But that ain't like a science. Jumping puzzles and lone platforms are tricky. You'll just have to get used the distance. Shores of time map? That platform outside of Bravo? Can't count how many times I've over blinked it. Takes getting used to. I first used it in PVE. It is ideal for getting the hell outta dodge. It's probably the best escape jump there is. Under fire you can't blink quickly out of harms way, and right as you hit the ground you can start up another one. Blink, blink, blink, cover. Then (in PvE) you'll get used to using it offensively. Blinking toward enemies to close distance without getting lit up. Blinking over enemies to land some shotgun blasts to the back of their head. Blink. Blam. Blink. Blink. Blam. Blink. Cover. Makes you an assassin on the field. An effective thing to practice on Dreg (eventually anything) is to blink high, then fall with a shotgun blast to the head. Then you'll just have to wade into PvP. Use it the same way. Start out using it to bail out of sticky situstions. Use it to close distances to control zones. To dodge thorn. You'll naturally get accustomed to it. You'll come around a corner and see a guy with last word. Instinctively you'll just blink over him to confuse him. As he's turning to look for you, you can drop him. Blink is good for avoiding splash damage from rockets, assuming you get the height you need. One note though... blade dancer in PvE is mostly only favored because of the Invisibility perks. While invisible, regular jumping won't break your invisibility. BLINK DOES. So if you're dismantling mines in PoE and using the inviz, do not use blink. It WILL break your inviz. Once you master it, people will hate your guts, and you may survive some chaotic situations in PvE.

1 ReplyEdited by THCJohnny: 8/29/2015 7:53:01 PMBeen using blink since the time my Shadow Price was king. The flow you pick up with blink over time is ridiculous. I can't use any other jump and the speed and mobility with blink is op haha just give it time and you'll be jumping over supers ;) Edit: Sucks it's getting a nerf for TTK

Yeah - the edge of the map is a great place to get killed by the Architects - I do it all the time - serious skills
-
Test it out on patrol first...I test everything on patrol and story missions before I take it to the crucible. I've usually done that....EXCEPT the time I get the dregs promise. Took it to rumble as soon as I got it, and got rekt. Played in the patrols with it, took it back to the crucible and did a lot better with it

If you want a tip to make it 100x easier, use bumper jumper controls.
-
1 ReplyYou must learn that the direction and angle you blink in depends on the motion of your character. If you jump and then wait until you've stopped traveling upwards yet have forward momentum you'll blink straight forward. If you want to blink down just wait until you start falling, and if you want to blink high you must immediately hit the jump button after jumping to get maximum height. Everything else? Just practice.

Blink and shotgun
-
1:Equip shotgun That's it
-
Same and started a week ago first time using it with a shot gun ofc I got like 5 kills in like 39 seconds
-
3 RepliesPractice with it in PVE, learn to gauge distances of how far you blink, aim to blink onto platforms while running. Once you master your aim with blink, PVP becomes a playground for you and confusing chaos for people you are fighting against...
-
Don't blink shotgun.
-
You have 2 weeks to practice, you better hurry.
-
Practice it in pve before going into pvp, get used to the distant and heights and its really simple
-
I'm a beta player and I'm still a bit of a clown w blink. I'm like a drunken, uncoordinated fool w blink.
-
Play around with it in patrol and learn how its trajectory works.
-
Just remember that it teleports you in the direction you're moving.
-
It certainly takes the most getting used to. I'd practice in regular crucible first. Remember that it has a cooldown, so don't get pissed when you don't bink again after just doing it twice. It won't really matter anyway at how good you ae at using it: its due a nerf.
-
Hope to see you in the Crucible so I can add you to the list of people I'll shoulder charge the shit out of ;)
-
There's ways to move forward faster. Side to side or backwards too. It's not just a jump.
-
just blink around all day long. eventually you will master it
-
9 RepliesPractice, we must make crucible our own playground and teach titans not to panic super

Edited by Il TOMMY lI: 8/28/2015 8:08:03 AMGo on patrol, shotgun in hand, run blink use shotgun on dregs. Learn your bink distance. Go into crucible and become a tear collector :) If you double tap jump you will blink up If you look up and double tap you will blink high If you jump and let your guardian start to drop down slightly then tap jump again you will blink straight forward. ideal for blinking through tight gaps door ways etc :)

Practice makes perfect, once u get the timing down its OP

Honestly people say it's overpowered, but I presume to think these are the players that don't use it. Instead they're the one's getting destroyed by it. I never used blink during like.... the first half of the year, but when I finally started to use it. It was horrible and I wasn't doing it 'right.' In the end I got better and better and started to own people. You'll probably experience what I have and I hope this rumored nerf doesn't make it useless.

....I can't believe what I just read....
-
protip: it has a cool-down. you'll want to familiarize yourself with it.
