Check it out super interesting.
Edit: Great comments players. There is still some love for Bungie out there and some appreciation for what they are trying to do. I for one am excited and can't wait for TTK.
Edit: YT Link for everyone just posted 3 hours ago. https://youtu.be/vN01zxcXVhQ

Still waiting for an apology to my wallet.

Edited by oHELLSTRYKEo: 8/27/2015 2:11:54 PMThis was sad to watch, I mean really........... - we are sorry we had no clue what we were doing when we released this game. - we are sorry we just jammed a bunch of shit into it before launch, so there was stuff we did not even find out that was put in until later. - we are sorry you got no raid boots in the vault of glass after running it 20 times. - we are sorry that we are nerfing your weapons and we are throwing the old ones out for new ones even thought it took you 600+ hours with our shitty loot system. - we are sorry you got stuck at level 20 and quit please buy the taken King and come back!!!! Please!!! Please!!!! All that was missing from a company who just basically said we -blam!-ed up. We have no clue as to where our game was going in the and hopefully do now can you please forgive us is...............Luke Smith telling us that people will throw money at screen for this shit!!! This video also came out yesterday? If so I thought TTK was sold out minus the digital copies according to Bungivision like a week after the preorders came out?

Not an apology. Just a recognition of our struggles. Hey know the problems we had were real problems and they are always looking for solutions. They can't make everyone happy. As they also said, a game on this scale is something new to them and they're still learning. But I didn't take this as an apology.
-
Bungie was like "Fck yo couch! Fck yo couch! Darknesses, darknesses!" But now they be like " Im sorry guardians, I was having too much fun"
-
as the reddit guy some year ago already said: the only thing bungie would really listen to are pre order figures and with HoW being a let down. apart from ToO people has gotten more cautious on pre ordering dlc from bungie.. no matter the wording.. and with a 40$ Dlc (and TTK is nothing more than a DLC) people are very cautious on spending this money in advance.. (also with that pricing inconsistency still in place) so yes bugnie noticed a sting in their wallet and activision is VERY aware of this.. and yes people quit the game WAY before reaching the end game. why was this not importand before ? because lots of people bought the hype and purchased the season pass, and got more and more disspointed along the way.. bungie tries to get backl the trust.. and the transparency they are lacking in order to when is what done and will it be implemented. ist legendary for a publisher.. DeeJ is a person that can talk an hour for 2 seconds worth of content.. simply because Bungie doesnt know yet.. and even the notion, "the player shaped the game" came LATE into their shematics of how do we want us to present .. they should have said from the beginning that TTK is the next release where they can incooperate players feedback and TDB and HoW are already finished and ready to ship since day one..

This was a really good article. I like that the team at Bungie were being so open about how things have progressed (including owning up to their mistakes). It definitely helps give me a more positive outlook on what the future may bring.
-
Not an apology nor do they have anything to apologize for, it's a wonderful, flawed game and they are working to make it better.
-
Bump for later
-
I could careless what Deej or these other game programmers half to say you signed a 10 year 500mill dollar contract with Activision you sold your souls deal with it. It is all about the money not the false words they say in videos, they have already proven time and time again in videos "all we do is lie vs what we give you the community to play" so go on vacation because you deserve it! pls!

Edited by r1s1nsun: 8/27/2015 3:15:22 PMSuper Ninja Bump "Apologizing" ? Meh more like showing some humility & explaining HoW their trying.

Like when a guy treats his gf like shit, then she leaves him, then he begs her to come back. Still love destiny, but am cautiously optimistic as every DLC has a vidoc that gets me hyped, only leaving me with mindless repetitive grinding and lack of story.

Edited by Quetzal: 8/27/2015 2:45:01 PMHeres one thing that irks me in the article: " a handful of detractors". I did a poll a week back of people who were disappointed in Year 1 Destiny, and it reached far beyond a handful. GameInformer is pulling punches because they want destiny to get a lil breathing room, I understand that. Still doesn't make it right. On to the video; DeeJ saying they "wouldn't know if it was watertight until launch"... That is a HORRIBLE way to do anything. Also, that's what you say when you talk about a beta... O.o This also goes to Smith's comment about how the game launched and there were already problems. There were a multitude of problems in launch destiny that carried over from the actual beta, why weren't they fixed in that gap? On the "soulcrushing cliff" at level 20, that's where your light system took its toll. Im really glad theyre separating Light and Level, itll diversify players' gear. My room mate, who was Day 1 (Im a filthy week 2) quit before doing any endgame, because there wasn't any direction for the game past the story (not that the story had much direction to begin with). How did the devs not see these things in advance? As to the player time commitment, that has very little to do with them enjoying the game. The game requires you to play extensive amounts just to progress through its endgame content, which translates into hours, days even, of grinding for one specific gear piece. As to making destiny a game that's more than a One-&-Done, you need to give your players something to do! And, to throw in some nostalgia, NO ONE LIKED IT WHEN YOU INTENTIONALLY MISLEAD US ABOUT HALO EITHER

Thx will check it out tonight

Respond for later use.
-
I like that they've owned up to their mistakes.
-
Can someone reply to this comment so I can watch this later?
-
That was.....interesting, need time to digest.

Great video!

I was here when this thread only had two replies.

No matter what your personal opinion of destiny no one can deny that destiny has not received universal acclaim. Halo has tons of love. Destiny is polarizing. Even now people are split on it. Almost half of the player base (even the people who play alot) dislike the game. At least Bungie gets it. Maybe they can fix it, maybe not we'll see.
-
Edited by G4LL0WGL455: 8/27/2015 2:39:45 PMBungie spin for the masses. Prescripted by Activision. Destiny needs to become a full fledged revenue stream and this is supposed to make us want to do that.

Well this kind of confirms what I had believed from the start. The game itself seemed rushed and I believe they can confirm this in the video. However you can't blame the devs as they have to do what they can in a small time frame. Also If this video is actually genuine then I can feel a little bit better about continual support for Destiny. It seems like they want another chance so I for one am willing to do so.

Where's the apology?
