Trials of Osiris has Level Advantages enabled. This means that weapons with higher attack will do more damage compared to lower attack guns. (eg. Messenger > Strangers Rifle).
As for sprinting, that is simply the Sprint Cooldown. You can sometimes double tap Y/Triangle and sprint again, but other times you'll have to wait.

I understand the first part of your statement. I would like to use my stranger's rifle in trials instead of an OP weapon like messenger, thorn, or last word. If it just had a little more damage the gun would be so sweet to play in trials is all. As for the cooldown for sprinting, you sprint for a second and stop, why should there be a 3-5 sec cooldown? This is what I think is broken. Thanks for your comment.
