Chief Kills Destiny, part 3, CHAPTER 3

Test of the sage Knight, chapter 3 "Cortana, did you hear that?" Chief asked in confusion. "Hear what?"  The voice spoke again. Your friend can not hear me, Sage Knight "John, what did you hear?!" "You're not getting any readings?" "No, I hear nothing!" I will explain later, but for now, survive A fallen soldier fired at Chief as he came out of cover, the round grazed his helmet. Chief fired a burst of rounds into it, catching him in the head. More airhorns sounded in the distance. Another Fallen, quite bigger than the last, lunged at Chief, two of it's arms were wielding long glimmering blades.  "John, watch out!"  The Captain swung, catching chief in his chest plate, the blade's energy taking out his shields along with a good piece of his armor. Chief was knocked back, his auto rifle thrown from him. It swung again, but this time chief had caught it's muscular arm. He turned the Captain's arm till he heard the crack of it's bones, the loud roars of the now enraged Captain could be heard over the battle. Chief threw the captain back, and picked up one of it's glowing blades, which was still coursing with electricity. The captain staggered back, and chief threw the sword with all he had.  Someone had screamed "Allahu Akhbar!" Just as it met the Captain's face.  Chief noticed he was breathing heavily, for once he had broken a sweat.  "John, we're getting too old for this.." Chief was ready for more, but it appeared the battle was already over. He looked around to see the aftermath of all the destruction, the fallen had ransacked this part of the city, luckily they hadn't made it any further.  Chief turned to see Quip standing over a fallen soldier. Moving his crotch up and down over it's face.  Jarick was turning in a constant circle, firing rounds into the air aimlessly.  And shin just stood there, silently cleaning his revolver.  "Its over." Chief said to jarick, prepared to debrief at the tower.  "Noth yeth"... Jarick responded, still having a tone if excitement in his voice even though they had just finished fighting a bloody battle.  "We thtill need thoo deal with Crawmerath" Chief had forgotten about the fallen leading the attack, he knew where jarick had shot him shouldn't have killed him instantly. It was time to finish him.  They walked passed the flaming wreckage of the fallen walker, bodies scattered in it's wake. They stopped when they saw Crawmerax's crippled body laying in the dirt.  Quip stood over his body. Trying not to step in the black blood pouring from him.  "What...the -blam!-. Are you?" Quip said in what appeared to be an Austrian accent. "What....the -blam!-..are you?" Crawmerax replied in between gurgled coughs.  Quip then reached down, and pulled off Crawmerax's mask. Revealing a face covered with blood, mouth was made if four mandibles, with his mouth inside. Somewhat similar to the Elites.  "You're one ugly mother-blam-er!" Quip yelled at the dying fallen.  "Mother...-blam!-er" Crawmerax gurgled, just as he pulled out what appeared to be a black orb. He squeezed it, and it began to glow with a blue light. "Shit! Grenade! RUN! GO! GET TO THE TOWER!" Crawmerax then began letting out a horrendous laugh, that echoed throughout the wastes of the city. Quip screamed as he ran away, dropping all of his weapons slowing him down. Shin was already gone, and Jarick Slowly flew through the air, trying his hardest to escape the explosion.  "Chief!' Chief turned to run, just as he heard a loud explosion directly behind him. And then he felt it. Caught in the blast, a massive wave of energy hit him, knocking out his shields. His HUD began malfunctioning as massive amounts of electricity ran through his body, rendering him incapable of moving as his body arched back in pain.  And then he heard the screams, Cortana's screams. "C-Cortana!" He knew her chip couldn't handle this, he tried to get his arm moving so he could remove her from his helmet. But it was too late. "J-J-J-John,IIIII-" Cortana was gone.  Chief passed out, hitting the ground with a thud. Before he closed his eyes, he could see fireteam Zulu, slowly walking towards him, holding their weapons at the ready, he then heard Jarick tell the others "Now'th our chanthe, leths do ith" Fireteam Zulu had betrayed him.  And he knew that when he woke up... That the airhorn orchestra would play once again. Read all parts here! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/140164991/0/0/1 Follow #Neo or join the Chief kills Destiny hub to stay up to date!

Unintentional 'bump'. Possible alternate pathway to involve the Vex in their peculiar ways. Can be a 'side-chapter' and not need be directly in the main storyline, but is an extension to show what else was going on. Some modifications can be made.
Before resuming, suggested 'continuations' for the story if community wishes. Fall of the Guardians: Chief Kills Destiny, [Up to P3/C3 atm, as OP says]. Fall of the Guardians: Return of the Forerunner. [Could be a 7-parter short with Prometheans fighting everyone for a bit, before focusing on the Covenant, Hive, Cabal, and what's left of humanity]. Fall of the Guardians: The Covenant strikes back. [A drawn out conclusion to the epic series, with the glassing of The City, and very angry Prophets arguing with Ur-Didact, while Chief is left interrogating Oryx, or just chatting with him, followed by an unexpected invasion of the Grineer, or something]. Now, the text you may find use for. The Bronzed Saviour. Perhaps have a Vex Minotaur save him unexpectedly, anywhen (given if it would be one of those 'I will be dead in one more shot' or similar moments), and Atheon brief him on the situation from the Vex standpoint, and proceed to outfit Chief with the appropriate means, including temproal rewind to fix Cortana, and Ur-Didact with his Prometheans as backup. That same Minotaur would return and nick the Cryptarch, a foreshadow of what would happen later. [Input Tower Commotion]. Ur-Didact and Chief would team up to capture important targets (namely, leaders of all the core things; stolen overnight by Promethean Knights slipspacing in and out; each were uniquely outfitted) and send them to the Citadel for interrogation DIRECTLY by an instance of Atheon. [Input flashback/forward/viewpoint of other factions]. Atheon would act through body expression and other Vex, like a chorus, forming the sentences; vague but understandable. Furthermore, Atheon would mention why the Vex are using Chief as a sword, as Atheon would load a text wall, depicting from the Vex's viewpoint, the Guardians' lack of being Guardians. After introducing Ur-Didact and his Prometheans, with a Composer, Atheon would set them on the task of making the solar system fit for the UNSC in exchange for knowledge on Forerunner resource generation methods, so the Vex won't have to go to extreme measures. [Input possible Covenant arrival, to claim the Fallen; the Hive preferred the Flood, but only a Spore was found]. The Chief, and Ur-Didact, then sets out with his new gear, and a ship, and a squad of Promethean 'Siper-Knights' (variants altered to combat Guardians) with him. [Flip to a 'meanwhile, on the Dreadnaught...' scene] Oryx looks out across the balcony and sees the Covenant Armada. Everywhere. [Mumbling]. [Continue original plotline with appropriate changes].
