What did the ice breaker do?
Ice breaker nerfs has no reason, 5 seconds to get your ammo it feels like it more but 8 no reason. Like if it were 3 seconds and change to 5 then i would understand but 8 just no. Comment bellow if you think the ice breaker nerf is unnecessary. (Atleast for Pve)

3 RepliesThank you Bungie for now allowing me the time to learn classical guitar between ammo recharges, to read the entirety of all 7 volumes of Proust's 'A la recherche du temps perdu'. With this extra time I feel I could submit my meagre intellect to more philosophical pursuits unfettered by the interesting tension of having to sit my electronic arse on a rock shooting at the AI equivalent of a horseshit sandwich. If I knew they would end up broken I'd not have worked so hard to get them. Say good buy to all the old must haves. Thanks bungie for punishing your most loyal fans

It was too good bro. They don't like good weapons, they make the game too easy. Just to watch today a sword , tomorrow a pillow with arc damage.

Icebreaker being my first exotic has a big reputation in nightfall strikes with solo players like me and others. the nerf isn't all that bad..... is it necessary? No not in my opinion. Is it that big of a deal? No.... will keep people from camping in pvp? No ....but it will cause players to adopt a new strategy other than the one there used too.

Honestly the icebreaker is probably my most helpful tool for solo situations and that's pretty much it. Reducing its ammo recovery really would have the effect of slightly slowing down atheon kills and players doing solo missions. That's pretty much it. Just seems like a useless patch in general.

Ice breaker needs some type of buff it was my favorite sniper.

I'm surprised Bungie hasn't decide to make the ice breaker capable of special ammo pick up, just make each special ammo box 1 shot given to the exotic and then this nerf wouldn't be bad.

6 or 7 a gradual change would be better but I think there reasons for doing it are worthless, they will hit the queensbreaker next as 1 min with ice breaker will give that sucker 50 odd rounds... Campers are going to camp... Nerfing Ice breaker isn't going to change that its just going to be used as a portable battery pack for other guns

Extend the time but let us at least pick up ammo and reload.

The noob were staying in the back of the map sniping while the ice breaker recharging. That's a problem.

17 RepliesIcebreaker has no advantage over legendary snipers besides the ability to allow you to camp forever in a boss room without having to kill a single enemy for ammo. I mean if it actually had good stability and perks that weren't total crap I MAY consider using it over my Amplified GeD (which has shoot to loot, making it more useful than icebreaker) In short, I feel this weapon was MADE to be abused. there are very few situations where you NEED a regenerating sniper (besides soloing a nightfall or something), and since it has no reserve ammo or reload it has lower DPS than pretty much any other sniper. It doesn't make much sense to me that a gun is COMPLETELY built around its "regenerating ammo" gimmick. Invective has ammo regen too but it can also reload, pick up ammo, and it has full auto (plus its ammo regen is 30 seconds so you cant abuse it as easily).

It is not only unnecessary, but totally unwarranted, and nothing more, IMO, than a way for Bungie to show that the "new" weapons they are bringing out will be better. This "nerf' has made me quite upset, and all it means is that I will have to spend more time in a place before being able to finish killing a bullet sponge, and can't go on to do something else, just because it means even more sitting around time waiting for ammo to respawn.
