Are strikes with people AFK a problem and does it need to be adressed by Bungie.
Everybody has come across one of these players during a strike, you enter a strike and you start running towards the first objective but you notice that at least one person from your fireteam isn't doing anything. Yeah we're dealing with someone who is AFK and just want to be a leech.
Basically people are like to enter a strike, watch tv and enjoy the reqards afterwards when about 15 minutes have passed. Some even take measures to not be disconnected for standing still for to long by holding their thumbstick in an angle so they start walking.
I don't mind having one person leave as a new person can join halfway the strike, the thing I'm personally anoyed by are these leeches.
Bungie needs to think of something that will deal with these people such as adding a rule that will make that person actively take part in the strike. Rules such as:
1st rule: You need to be inside the boss room at the end within a certain amount of time when 1 or both other fireteam members enter this room or you will be kicked.
Basically like adding a 6 minute timer when the first person enters and change it to 3 minutes when the second person enters the room.
2nd rule: You need to do at least x amount of damage in the strike or you won't receive any rewards. (People who enter midgame have to do less amount of damage).
Everyone should be able to achieve this certain amount of damage even if they've never gotten a kill in that strike.
As a part of the fireteam you need to be doing your part by adsisiting the other two guardians. Some people may say that deaths will decrease the possibility to achieve that score since you're out of the game, but then that means you're not actively taking part in your fire team and merely acting as a lone wolf. It's the risk you take.
I hope I get positive reactions and that people agree that Bungie needs to deal with this.

seen this happen a few times even tonight. me and this other dude blasted through the strike while the leech did blam! all apart from step out after we killed the boss, his kill count was a big fat 0 there should be a system put in place where on 0 kills = blam! all rewards.

The worst is the people who just run out and die. Maybe the kill a dreg or two and then just run straight at that captain. Or they make sure they're directly next to omnigul where there is no easy way to rez. If you do rez them...30 seconds later *guardian down* - rinse and repeat. This week everytime I tried to do the weekly heroics at least one person was either AFK or playing bullet sponge. It's not a problem, it's a plague.

I think it's should be an inactivity timer but more like 3 min not 6. And not just from the boss room at anytime in the strike period if someone is in active for 2 to 3 min they should be kicked. No other reprocussions just kicked from the match

Gjallarhorn only has 7 boss kills on full, my back is only so strong. Bungee nerf inactivity, it's op vs my aching back

Doesn't really seem to happen often anymore, but when it does I just hit hem with a little sparrow justice.

There should be a vote to kick system if the player has been inactive for more than 5 mins Happened to me today Poe very annoying

was doing POE 28 a few weeks ago and I noticed one of the guys would go in and find a spot to sit and hide while me and the other dude did the work. Typically I just go to orbit but instead was getting tired of repeated AFK's so I went in and followed him around and sat down. The other guy had already left so we just had a sitting contest and eventually he got the message and we both finished up the poe 28 with just the 2 of us.

1 ReplyI was doing Dragon strikes yesterday with my Bro, in just 4 games, we had 4 inactives, so we both reported them for inactivity and once we got to the boss room, we found somewhere where the boss couldn't kill us, and sat down, we then messaged the players, and simply said "No free rides" 2 of the people left, and 2 of them actually made there way to the boss room, really slowly, but they made it in the end. #NoFreeRides #MakeThemWorkForRewards!

Was doing Nexus Mind last night and while killing the Nexus I had noticed our teammate wasn't even in the damn room fighting. From the looks of it he was just roaming around elsewhere because I could see his name move, and at the end of the strike I had 67 kills, while he had 11.... -_-

People are missing the obvious. People don't want to play 250 strikes for the grimoire. They go dark while doing something else. Its really sad actually.

I played skirmish last night, one of the players on my team was afk but had rubber banded his controller so he just span. He went 0-16. Obviously we lost. I reported him but highly doubt anything will be done.

3 minutes of literally not moving = boot back to orbit. I can do the strikes on my own without the help... but someone shouldn't get to freeload for bounties, rewards etc. 3 minutes is more than enough time to get back to your controller to participate. If not, if something demands your time away from the controller for more than 3 minutes, then chances are you shouldn't have been running the strike in the first place. This is not a MAJOR problem, but it's a nuisance. I don't mind Bungie fixing a nuisance, but their lack of a boot back to orbit doesn't solve this.

If you were available 30 seconds ago to start the strike, there's no excuse to be inactive when the strike starts. If life comes up in the 30 second load time; leave the game. Leave an open slot for someone else who actually wants to play. You can always find another strike in a minute or two when you're finished with whatever was taking you from the game. Bungie should auto boot any player who hasn't moved in 3 minutes, or any player who is still in the LZ of a strike aimlessly killing adds to make it look like they are contributing, they get 3 as well one the rest of the team is detected further on in the strike.

Me and my friend did Sepiks yesterday, and we had this one Hunter with us at the beginning, but he didn't move and we basically carried him. He was probably doing the strike without dying, so in exchange me and my friend killed him with the sparrow while that bastard was sitting in the cheese spot of Sepiks. Highlight of my day.

I think it's been getting worse of late. Dragon strikes are fun as well as being great for loot, but some folk are just there for the loot. What they then do with their prizes I don't know if they don't want to shoot at stuff, all a bit pointless. Anyway, report and move on. Regular offenders will appear on Bungie's radar, players answering the phone etc won't.
