How to counter a sniper?
Seeing as shotguns are getting a nerf in 2.0, I feel like snipers will become (much more) popular in the crucible. How do you usually deal with a sniper?

Out snipe them with evasive tactics, angle changes, and general skill. And if you really want to make it hurt, use NLB.

I find it funny when I manage to out snipe someone when I'm using the thorn

Use my Hawkawsome sometimes one shot sometimes three sometimes I die. But so satisifing when I kill them before they kill me.

Because if it's a Hovey you're only chance is to jump where he isn't expecting you to be and kick him with a Sticky/Rocket/Super/Shotgun/Fusion/Thorn/LW (the latter HAVE to be 2-crit kills). And drain his Special ammo supply every time it spawns. Make sure he has nothing. If he's using Icebreaker/NLB you're just done unless you gang up on him like he's got a permanent Golden Gun. If more traditional just get a flank going, if a full team hanging in the back of the Shores get a four-man group to bundle and push one side and after you kill one of 'em have the other two come from the mid.

17 RepliesHow to counter a sniper: Kirito Method. 1. Stare down the sniper, looking directly at him/her with no obvious hostile intent. 2. Wait. The sniper will try to shoot you multiple times, and miss every shot. Eventually, he/she will be forced to run out from cover to yell at you. 3. After a long, meaningful flashback, make a deal with the sniper. Toss something in the air. The moment that hits the ground, ready your sword and use it to slice the sniper's first shot in half. From there it's easy to sprint forward and place your blade up to their neck. 4. Have a long, meaningful talk with the sniper. Eventually, tell them you don't like killing people. Outsniping god i love this Mida works great (really love this gun works pretty good on thorn and hawkmoon users to) Shotgun, they will be usefull but not that overpowered as now. Just try something :)
