Had the same problem with a controller I had for ages. Thought it was the joystick and swapped controllers now it doesn't do it as often but still happens. Only for destiny as well. No problem when playing cod or halo. Let me know if you found a way to counter it

The only thing I've noticed is when you look as far to the right as the control stick will go, it does it. But if you don't hold it all the way to the right it doesn't do it. I've been able to manage with raising my sensitivity level and not holding my stick all the way to the right.
