Have you disassembled any game consoles?
I personally have taken apart the following:
PS4 - fix (see below)
PS3 - fix ylod
PS2 - fix disc drive, fix open/close button
Xbox 360 - fix rrod, install RGH
Xbox - mod or swap disc drives
Comment what you have cracked open and why you did it.
The PS4 was I weird situation, my dad bought a new PS4 and out of the box it wouldn't work, all it did was turn on flash a blue light and turn off. He threw the receipt away and Fred Meyer would not return it so I took it apart, cleaned the heat sinks and put new thermal paste on it and put it all back together hoping that was the problem. It's ran great ever since.

Absolutely. I've disassembled my NES to clip the pin on the region lock chip, I've disassembled my genesis to pull out what appeared to be 3 cats worth of fur inside of it, I've disassembled my Dreamcast to fix the bent power supply reset problem, I've disassembled my Saturn to plan modchip placement, likewise with my PSX, and I've disassembled my PS2 to softmod it. It's not particularly daunting just to disassemble them.
