If it weren't for the Liberals, race literally wouldn't even exist.

Liberals need to go away. When they change things to be more open and inviting, they let people in that we don't want or people start acting in a way that is not justified because Liberals give them a voice.
-
It's like they're trying to extinguish racism by trying to keep it alive and promote it every chance they get. Last I checked, you don't put a fire out by throwing wood into it.

Edited by Tuxx: 7/28/2015 4:02:41 PMThere's a difference between an individual's political views and the media's portrayal and exhibition of cover stories inciting racial tension in the pursuit of views and ratings. I don't think we should point fingers at individuals, rather we should point them to the people in charge and behind the scenes.
-
That is assuming that the media only does it for views and ratings - which would mean you'd have to ignore the fact that media outlets have been used to push political agendas for all of time. I agree that we should focus on the Oz behind the curtain, but the political and associated media religions of our nation are only fueled by their zealous believers.

Idk enough about who is behind the scenes and who owns different networks to know what sort of political ties may be influencing and pushing agendas. I can see the possibility, similar to what you said, media is a prime outlet for influencing the masses.

Edited by Nonebot: 7/28/2015 4:40:19 PM... Here's a funny example of obvious media scripting. I'll re-post this in the main section.

Ahh I've seen this. I figured it was more of them copying each other and less of all the networks being lead by an identical corporate or political entity.

Nope all are ABC channels

Interesting.

... Here's an interesting one about a CNN journalist coming out and saying that the government pays them to fake stories. I can't find a mainstream source in a Google search but I suppose that is to be expected. She really was a CNN journalist though and there's a video of it coming from her own lips.

Thanks for that; lengthy but much appreciated.

No problem!

It's nice to get some legitimately informative material haha. I certainly didn't know that there were actual states like (Bahrain? Idk how to spell it) actually funding and having control over news media in another country, nor did I know about the military operatives working in editorial positions in news networks. It's obscene. I can certainly see the potential for a lot of negative outcomes to come out of a state run, heavily censored journalism and media. If anything, a brief look at history can show us the kind of atrocities and consequences that can come out of such a regime.
