I was in the same position you are in right now and believe me, it is YOUR Internet connection. I did some research into the weasel code and found that it is caused by packet loss, which is a small portion of data flow gone missing. Believe me, it is happening when you play any game, but Destiny's online coding detects something is amiss when it doesn't receive all the data it sends out to the server, and thus kicks a player. Here is what I recommend you do; call your provider, tell them you have a problem with packet loss and you need a technician sent to your home. Make sure they check the following; Your router/modem Your Ethernet cable (make sure it is CAT.5E, it should say it's model on the cable, and if it isn't, ask for one) The PCT cable (the one that connects to the wall) The Internet wiring in your house (this was my personal problem, as the technician who originally set up my Internet did a half-ass job and the one I requested fixed it) External sources, such as a Central Hub in your neighbourhood Make sure the technician looks at all this stuff because it can be multiple causes for packet loss. Hope this helps not only you, but anyone who experiences that damn weasel in their console.

As a persistent weasel sufferer, whenever I test my connection, both via PC and through the Xbone's settings, I have zero packet loss. Unless my modem randomly decides to do this at random intervals... Addendum: some days its absolutely fine. I get zero errors. Other days I get a few, while others its quite many. Its completely random.

  • If it seems the weasel error is on an on/off switch for you see if it occurs when other devices are being used; PC, phone, tablet, etc. Packet loss may not occur on your PC, but can very well be happening on your XBox because of other devices. If you browse the web a lot when playing, see what website you are going to when the weasel error occurs. Some websites have specific cookies that inadvertently cause packet loss to other devices. For example, sporting sites like nba.com and even destinytracker.com. If you're getting the weasel error packet loss is happening somehow, it may not be constant, but it is being triggered, and it may be outside of your control. The wiring in your house could be the cause of it, for example a splitter is slowing down the data flow too often and Destiny removes you because of it. I hope this helps, Ultra Vires. The weasel code can be fixed on your end. Call your ISP and tell them you're having issues and make sure the technician checks all of the above in my previous comment.
