I'm on the fence about this. Part of me wants to say no to this, mainly because I actually kept all the weapons from Pre-Dark Below. I like rocking stuff that most others don't have due to the mass dismantling or because players started playing after Dark Below/House of Wolves was released and just didn't have access to them.
On the other hand, if it means being able to bring back all the old stuff and ensure that we can continue advancing our weapons and armor from Year 1 into Year 2 and for the rest of Destiny's life span? Then yes, I am so totally onboard with this idea.

Sure getting 9 treasure keys a week might sound daunting, but I'm sure most guardians have had all the Queen weapons by now several times over. To me it feels like obtaining the end game weapons is easier than past raids, and I want more of a reason to grind PoE. I enjoy doing PoEs. My second reason is I would like to collect and advance my weapons throughout the destiny of... Destiny. (haha) Maybe it's my inner elitist coming to the surface, but I would love to be in Destiny X, and have someone ask me where I got X weapon. Very first base game. I want to be able to have some sort of legacy throughout the game's ... wait for it.... Destiny. Also (I guess I have 3 main points), I would like to regain my past glory with multiple older weapons that I had to part with because of either vault space or not enough time to play to get said weapons, as clearly other people had to go through this as well.

Yeah, I hear ya. I think if they did bring them back, it should be a very difficult challenge to get them. I wouldn't want just ANYONE having them at this point, especially when so many would throw random hate at those of us who refused to "trade up" for the new stuff, ya know? Like, if they are suddenly wanting those old weapons now, they have literally no right to them at this point. But for those who didn't do stuff like that and ended up dismantling to free up vault space, then I agree they should have the opportunity to reclaim those items. I also think not everyone will get everything they would want, as bungie has done a great job making it necessary to grind things.

Yeah destiny has some elements of an MMO, which include grinding as a means to pass the time between content releases.

Thanks ^_^ I WAS farming Etheric Light for them all but then TTK got announced sooooo... With them once again not confirming one way or another officially that we'll be able to keep ascending shit from Year 1 to Year 2, I've lost all reason to continue playing since it just feels like a repeat of Dark Below all over again for the gear being potentially made obsolete again.

Maybe they'll do one off and one on? That's like the worst case scenario, other than flat out no more ascension. I wouldn't mind it too much as I do both PvP and PvE, so some guns are still relevant, but I also learned my lesson to keep my guns no matter what.
