"People used more variety"
Yeah right, like when you had no choice but to use an assault rifle.

-
Edited by HyperVigiIant: 7/2/2015 8:06:12 AMPeople used weapons situationally. In big maps like First Light, people used snipers and scouts rifles a lot; in smaller maps, people used fusion rifles and shotguns a whole lot. Pretty much any gun (except pulse rifles, in my opinion) were effective and used more often than they are now. A lot of people used the Vex too.
-
Edited by HyperVigiIant: 7/2/2015 8:16:53 AMPeople forget about weapons like the Pocket Infinity, Plan C, Dammerung, Black Chasma, Badger CCL, Vex and sniper rifles in general when they say that all everyone used were ARs.
-
Nope. People didn't need to use scouts because AR's did the job of scout rifles and with a much faster rate of fire.
-
I've played Destiny since the beta, and I can tell you that people complained about fusion rifles the most at the beginning (this includes the Vex when people started attaining it from VOG).
-
Well done. You must be the only beta player and therefore the ultimate authority. I remember the vex arriving and the complaints. Thing is, nothing got changed because of complaints. They got changed because of data (re: AR's) Anyway, that's beside the point. Point was, lack of variety is not exclusive to pre AR patch. I'll guess there's more variety today but we'll have to wait on bungle for that info.
-
Edited by HyperVigiIant: 7/2/2015 8:42:25 AMWell done! You put words into my mouth and made assumptions. I've given all the evidence I need to prove my point. I don't need to type anything else because it won't change anything. Have a good one!
-
You provided no evidence. Thanks anyway.
-
Edited by HyperVigiIant: 7/2/2015 2:36:24 PMYou have evidence because you have been given information about a game from a person with experience of playing the game (from the start) for the purpose of discrediting your statement. You are welcome! Other people have also given you evidence but you have chosen to stick to your beliefs. Good on you! I must hide your comments now so your messages don't pop up on my phone because it is quite inconvenient for them to appear on my screen when I'm trying to ignore them.
-
Only evidence needed is bungle nerfed AR's bc there was no variation. *bows *leaves
-
People didn't 'need' to use any specific weapon, but the fact is they did.
-
Um, hawkmoon and the last word were just as good then, people just didn't complain about them because they were busy complaining about suros
-
Exactly lol. It's just proof that this community will eternally whine about whatever weapon holds the throne. In january thorn was exactly how it is now, and last word was even better (had more range and stability) but suros was king of pvp (not even because it was OP) so it took all the forum posts and all the hits
-
When suros was still a beast, hawkmoon was an ungodly killing machine.
-
Hand cannons were still highly viable. A good scout rifle in the right hands was deadly. That's just primaries. You also had more variety in secondary guns as there were more snipers before and people could actually use a fusion rifle with some success.
-
Snipers are still viable, I never use shitguns unless after a specific bounty. Fusion rifle users only had success at the start until people realised to engage before/after charge time. You in no way HAVE to use an exotic handcannon. Auto rifles pre nerf were -blam!-ing ridiculous, and no I never cried "nerf" or complained I just dealt with it and carried on. Same as I do now with hc's and the same as I'll do if they get nerfed. Fücking deal with it. Stop being sheep and only using what other people say should be used. Does the community realise that some top streamers with influence over bungie and the community are calling for a g'horn nerf. Not because it's too powerful (which it may be) but because people are being left out on lfg etc because useless fücking scrubs refuse to try anything without it. That's how pathetic you all sound thinking the guns make the player and not the other way around.
-
Don't get your panties all balled up in there. All I'm saying is give us a true old school event. Let us enjoy the game as we bought it for a few days to mix things up. Also notice I never said what I used or do use or called for any nerfs. I am no sheep nor am I the Shepard. I am is the meat packing place down the street from the farm who finds more efficient ways to make lamb chops.
-
Or Bungie could just sell the f-ing thing again and stop being dicks. I have one btw.
-
That wouldn't solve it. Someone will still miss out on buying for whatever reason and then they'll still be left out.
-
Oh you had choices. You just had to be GOOD with the weapon that you chose. ...and automatic weapons are SUPPOSED to dominate at close-to-mid-range. Thats why real armies use them. The weapon variety problem (that existed before) was a MAP DESIGN problem....not a weapon balance problem.
-
Lol you did not have to be good with autos. Everyone went with Vanquisher/Shadow Price/SUROS archetype, which had ridiculous range and aim assist, and went headshots for days. Old crucible was easier and scrubbier.
-
Edited by a crudy driver: 7/2/2015 9:41:05 AMI used Galahad e and lots of blues did very well in one on one gunfights with shadow price/ suros/ vanquisher.I would rather it be like a normal fps and have several viable rifles, instead of destiny right now where everyone launches revolver shots across the map with an even more noticeable aim assist.
-
And the exotic hand cannons don't? And the scout rifles like Mida and pulse rifles like 55A-Allfate don't have ridiculously low levels or recoil? Please. What is it about FPS gamers that they always have to convince themselves that the OTHER guy's weapon is the one that doesn't take any "skill" to use. NONE of these weapons perform like real firearms and NONE of them take any real skill to use. When you can headshot a moving target from accross the map while at the same time having to account for wind and bullet drop....call me. Then we can have a discussion about "gun skill".
-
Dude, or dudette, fück off with your "real world gun skill" as if that gives you any authority over guns in a make believe video game.
