Weapon Balancing!

No nothing needs a substantial Nerf....How ever auto rifles need to be returned to there former glory. The higher ranged auto rifles , pules rifles and hand canons need a bit of a range Nerf. This should allow scout rifle usage to be more prevalent. The last word's last word perk needs to activate only from hip fire and not while aiming down the sights. leaving hand canons where they are at will allow a patient shooter to best shooters who are aggressive. (auto rifles) Yes you will see a lot more use from them because they are a very forgiving weapon class... missing a shot or two is no big deal how ever if you do the same with a hand canon you will be in trouble. (feel free to disagree this is purely my opinion)

  • I agree mostly, but I think hand cannons need to be harder to use at longer ranges, this apparently is what they did ay e3, they upped the kick, making it much harder to be used at ranges beyond mid

  • Scout rifles are fine. They just need more variety in map design, so that there are more long sightlines and opportunities to use them. Auto rifles need to be buffed. Fusion rifles need to be buffed. Otherwise, the other weapons are fine. Strong auto rifles would push hand cannons back to the mid-range, precision weapons they were intended to be. Better fusion rifles (along with strong ARs) would put shotgun rushers back in their place. What Bungie doesn't seem to get---or want to accept---is that automatic weapons are SUPPOSED to dominate close-to-mid-range combat. You balance them against other weapons classes not by NERFING them into the ground....but by limiting their range, and creating more opportuntiies for longer range weapons to be used. By creating more opens spaces and vertical levels to the maps.

      • I just think the Auto Rifles need buffed and bigger maps. Love scout rifles but I don't want to be forced to use one in all the tiny areas Bungie put in the CQB maps they have built and put bigger maps back in control and make more. They don't have to add the vehicles if no one wants them. Just a thought though. Also I really don't think Bungie wants it balanced. They want you to use the weapons they like instead of using the weapons you want to use in the game you paid for.

      • Bungie knows next to nothing about weapon balancing and it shows in the decisions they've made, it's all about the "PvP" side of Destiny which is real crappy (I wanted to say $hitty) because weapons like Thorn, The Last Word, and other Tier 1 Exotic Primaries dominant. Just look at the Iron Banner everyone is either using a Thorn (which is more than likely to be used), Last Word, Red Death, or some other Tier 1 Exotic Primary. I myself have all three weapons and have mixed feeling about them, I hate having to limit myself to a particular weapon just to excel in PvP because it's "Meta" as Byf would say (or to some degree). Why should there be a Meta in Destiny anyway? We should use the weapons we feel are good and not have to be restricted to what's Overpowered because of a certain perk, what Bungie needs to look at is how they create these kinds of weapons and how they impact the game as a whole not just PvP. They did it to the Auto Rifle and nerfed it into the ground (and I love Auto Rifles, I pray they make a comeback soon!) then buffed Pulse Rifles so they'd be used more. Personally I rarely used the Pulse Rifles before they were buffed, I hate burst-fire weapons because more than half the time my opponent would have a full-auto weapon or sniper rifle. Honestly I wish every weapon in Destiny was balanced where they could all be viable but it's only a dream as things stand now.
