Am I the only one?

Am I the only one finding it harder and harder everyday to jump on Destiny and play? Right now I'm sitting in front of my t.v. and thinking to myself if it's worth it. I have some PoEs that I need to get finished, I'd like to run trials, need the boots for all 3 of my guys. But I'm sitting here unmotivated to even bother with this game. In the past I would've been like, damn I got lots to do and less time to do it in before reset. Not sure if it's because my friends aren't playing as much anymore or if it's this dlc/expansion bs with the pricing. I don't know but something has turned me off. Are any of you guys feeling the same and if so why? Just looking for answers. Thanks for the support guys and gals! I'll never get tired of the great people like you guys on this forum.

I'm reaching that point as well. I've not done the multitude of grinding hours others in my clan have, but how much can you grind in hopes of that RNG roll? PoE was fun for a few rounds, now...ughhh. The new weapons are lackluster. Armor, meh, alright, mostly perked for PoE. I was pleased with the initial game, the storyline and lots to play and go back to and kick arse (where I may have barely made it thru originally). Then the expansions, more like teasers of some content. Worth the extra $$? Maybe. I'm so far looking forward to TTK, but for $40, it best be more than the DLC's. I see a teaser for Mercury, maybe there's 5-6 storyline missions? And of course hope for more raids and/or strikes, other than just Oryx. And I really hope Bungie opens up paths for Exotics that do NOT require Crucible (or an RNG magical drop). I have several Exotic bounties (notably for Invective and Thorn) that I just cannot get enough points in Crucible to get them. Granted, I do not play PVP hardly at all, I do not like PVP much, 'cause I suck at it. And yea, I've heard the "just keep trying and you'll get better" or the "try this method", but while I would love to get those weapons, I do NOT WANT TO KEEP GRINDING just for them. I want to play and have fun. Not feel hate and discontent for my crappy PVP playing and for the game. At this point, like many others, Weekly/NF/bounties and done. I may do a PoE32 here and there to get the armor. If my friends are online, that's when it's fun anymore, so we can talk smack more than enjoy the playing.

    • SSDD. Its just a grind, but there isnt even all that much to grind for. Im not sure whats really up with this game besides that it was promising. I get on every single -blam!-ing day thinking "maybe today will be fun", but it just isn't. And every single time i try to walk away i look back at the game. All the trailers and all the hype before the game came out, what i hoped it would be, and cry a little bit. Think to myself "what if... What if this game was as cool as many thought it would be? What if we had enough fresh content to last us more than a week before reaching the bottom of the barrel?Sure you may get loot here and there, but most of it is blue engrams and when you have already grinded out enough to have everything you want, what's next? Get two of everything? You can barely even hold on to 1 of everything EVEN with slightly bigger vault space. You sit there trying to make more games out of a game because you don't have enough money to get something else to play. Then you see the taken king announced. It looks pretty -blam!-ing good! DAMN good! But then you remember youve dropped $100-$95 on a game and have to drop another $40 to still end up with less than those who pay $60 just one year later. Punished for supporting early. Sure games decrease in value over time but $100 in a year is ridiculous. Not to mention what we got for the $100 extra. "Go play another game!" I hear from others, but the vision of what the game was supposed to be. (Not to mention not many other games are really tickling my fancy at the moment, or at least aren't coming out any time soon*cough *cough Fallout 4*cough *cough)The thought of being SO close to having that game. It is the only reason i still play destiny. But thats just me, and im just venting a bit. Well, more than a bit

        • I'm borderline finished as well. Except, it's more because of the fact that both Bungie and Activision just make this game nearly worthless. I've been playing a lot of COD BO/2 zombies, and the comparison I can make between them is that they are actually fun to play, they have good replay value, and the developers actually cared about what we had to say. In contrast, with this game: we still want an AR buff, there's a -blam!--ton of exclusives, PvP is absolute bullshit, the Devs are lying, smarmy pricks, and the whole thing is basically Bungievision letting their c0ck hang out for all the sheep to suck on. And the community...well isn't it just a poisonous bunch of little bastards. At least the COD zombie community was predictable, and fun. I honestly just hope this game dies so that Activision goes bankrupt and Bungie becomes completely irrelevant.

        • Me too bro. I've started playing cod AW again after only playing it for 2 weeks after its release. It's refreshing to just put a game on, play it, then turn it off again. No spending 20mins looking for a group or the bullshit with "only gjallahorn/flawless emblem". Seriously it's reset day and I'm probably still not gonna bother. Didn't do anything last week, no nightfall, no trials, no PoE. Starting to get fed up of the hassle required to successfully play this game.

The problem with Destiny is very simple... They don't care about their players, they only care about themselves AKA their pockets. They refuse to do anything meaningful or relevant for the community and just seem to be fine with force-feeding us the same half-assed content over and over again. Not to mention, their lack giving us anything we, as a community, ask for (AR buffs for ex.). Then they charge us for limited content (I have $ but it's the others that I see struggling that I am talking about) which is just flat out disrespectful. Honestly, I have quit the game because it just feels like that movie Groundhogs Day, but with a middle finger pointed right at you as you play. It just makes you wonder how great this game would have been if it wasn't turned in to this repetitive, hot-mess that we were ultimately given. Personally, I am just flat out done wasting my time with this game (after +1500 hrs).
The Queen DLC didn't even feature one scene with the Queen, I mean wtf right? Probably took more effort to not include it than to just put it in the game.
Wait till TTK. You'll probably love it again. everyone who plays an MMO/MMO-like game feels after some time when a DLC has dropped. Then the next DLC they grind everything out. Just take things slowly and do things you might not have cared about before. Like one thing not many people do at all is read LORES. They can actually be really interesting. Like Gjallahorn was forged by using the armor of dead guardians that died in the twilight gap war. Go Finish of the grimore Come up with a PvP/PvE loadout that focuses on just pure damage Try solo a raid Run Strikes for fun. Teach people how to run raids. Just be creative. Try get in the habit of running bounties daily to collect packages from factions for gear/shaders/ships and what not. Grind HoW bounties for blue engram drops.

            • Yes but I know what turned me off. PoE rewards have done me in. Yes I still need etheric light but I'm just not motivated enough to do it. I am not impressed by the poe weapons and I don't really care for poe anyway. Simply put I do my nightfalls and whatever raid cp I need to get missing raid weapons and I am basically done for the week.

            • Yes. I am not sure why, but feeling the same. I think it is starting to feel like work. Long segments of play time with no checkpoint etc. not sure if it's getting boring or arduous.

            • No I there too. I've always said that playing too much leads to a crash. I've gotten there now. For now I'll do nightfalls but otherwise I'll play something else till the taken king or until my interest increases again.

            • Had the same feeling a couple months ago. Solution: stop playing. You are clearly burned out and Destiny is clearly not worth playing atm anymore for you. Take a break and play other games and maybe one day you'll have a craving for some guardian action and you'll actually be able to enjoy it. I'm still waiting for that day to come personally :)

I hope they learned they need a larger game at launch. We need more things to do day 1. People won't mind paying for expansions as much because they know they won't run out of things to do just weeks later. To say nothing of the game universe just feeling totally hollow via all the interesting lore locked away on grimoire cards. And then even if you read those, very little of it is referenced in the actual game. So even if you go digging for the story, it doesn't really feel like it matters. At this rate, Destiny will be what I wanted it to be, in like 4 years. And it looks like I'll just sit and wait rather than invest hundreds of dollars in getting there by buying everything new as it's released. tiny piece by tiny piece

                • I've already gone through this phase, it lasted for a couple months. I played Dragon Inquisition and other various indie games. But I'm back on it, however the attachment isn't the same as it was at the beginning when we were all stuck at level 29 trying to get to level 30. Destiny still has excellent gunplay which is worth playing, this and playing with the friends online is the things that pull you back into it. Everything else is weak.

I am... and I have good reason. My PS4 broke and has been sent in for repairs. However, I moved to PC games... and quite honestly I don't miss Destiny at all. I do come here to troll some morons, but other than that I'm a little glad and feel like I've kicked the habit. I'm not going to buy The Taken Shit... and only really stayed with the other expansions because I bought the whole "pass". So now, it's up to Bungie to reel me back in... so far the price and Luke's attitude sold me with a big NOPE.

                • I was playing abit Crucible to finally hit the 2.0 KD mark on my Hunter main, but it was more of a suffer then enjoyment... Joined 4 games in a row that were already running and losing, red bars, lag, being shot behind walls and MY FUKIN ARCBLADE DIDNT REGISTER LIKE 5 HITS ALL THE FUKIN TIME. I was used to some red bar players here and there, but it is becoming extremly obvious that the number of them and lags in general are increasing almost each day... From 1 laggy game from 10 games in the past it went to 1 non laggy game from 10 games nowdays...
