The Secret Of : Oh Teh Noes, I am Asplode! Bomb Explosion Kill? How Bungie?
What is the process of getting one? Almost every kill you get with the bomb is labeled as a guardian kill, so what are the steps that are necessary to getting a bomb explosion kill?
Shishka answered one of my questions in the optimatch forum, and he said to get a kill with the bomb explosion you have to detonate the bomb. A little more info would have been helpful, but oh well. At least Team Melee is coming back!

I went back through my history to every Assault game I ever played on Narrows and I couldn't find anything to indicate that I got the kill in a specific game.

well you def have it in grifball.. and don't forget, there's Expolosion kills (wuh-BLAM!) and bomb explosion kills. i guess wuh-blam is harder to get maybe(?) cause i have so few? (fusion coils / power cores?)

I've got one of the kills on Narrows. I have no idea how or when I got it and it's my only one.

The only way to find this out will be to get a saved video of a game in which it happens. We need to be finding one of those. I have one idea on how to do this. This morning around 10am central i looked and there were 244 players with bomb explosion kills. Tonight at 10pm central there are 245 players. That means either someone got one today/recently or a new profile was added to halo charts. If we keep track of the current players with bomb explosion kills, and take note of new players added to the list we might be able to get a saved film. If we can catch them quick enough the film will be in their last 25 and we can pester them till they cough it up lol.

ok i just had a thought...you know how every1 is talking about how they have so much deaths and so few kills? well that got me thinking. deaths[by any means, including suicide, betrayal, and enemy kills] results in a death, and what happens when you plant the bomb on grifball? instant death suicide, by bomb explosion. think about it, how many times have you been killed in grifball via your own bomb plant versus how much kills youve got for planting the bomb and getting the kills[not hammer-swing related or the such, actual kills from holding the bomb for a while, then planting it] this is very logical, and can be applied to many different occurrences, we just need someone to figure out a formula or something of the sort with my knowledge, along with every1 elses knowledge, and we can achieve this thing together. for all those hating on grifbal saying its not possible, how would i have so much deaths via it, when the only assault games i play are griffball[ i rarely go into objective gametypes, maybe 50 times max]

I can't believe this thread is still alive! I remember reading this several months ago. Anyways, I probably already mentioned it, but I'm thinking that it's like the kill by falling (Iiiiiiiie) where you have to drive an enemy that has full health off a cliff. So to get the bomb explosion kill, I'm thinking that the enemy MUST have full health. Also, there have been cases of bomb explosion kills on Narrows and The Pit, so any ideas involving vehicles are most likely wrong. I think it may have something to do with equipment or another object on the map. This is a very interesting concept. My theory is that Bungie's system of registering kills online for Bomb Explosion Kills is bugged and so only under extremely rare circumstances will anyone get one registered. But all of us have several deaths by the Bomb.

I'm not sure if this was stated previously but it looks like a lot of people who have 'bomb explosion kills' actually did not plant the bomb. Is there any new info on this topic? [Edited on 04.04.2009 6:12 PM PDT]

Oh, theory... In most assault games and grifball, the round ends as soon as the bomb detonates, so no kill credit goes out. However, in some game the bomb just resets, so when the bomb is planted, the person planting the bomb won't get the credit, (think like you are in the middle of a firefight and you fall to your death, or a teammate betrays you, the enemy gets the kill point, but if there is no one around you either take it from the guardians, or get a suicide) SO, when someone plants the bomb and you are hitting people from a distance, the bomb explosion that kills the people will register as your kill, and since it wasn't your BR that did it, you should get the bomb explosion kill on your record. (*also note, the bomb technically becomes a neutral environmental hazard when planted, further supporting my theory) It's just a rare sight because the assault games that don't end the round after the explosion are quite uncommon.
