Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Bloodborne.
Masterpieces all of 'em, if you've played through at least one of them, it's probably changed the way you look at video games. It certainly did for me.
So, I want your stories and tales about the Soulsborne games. Gimme.

feel like im the only one who doesnt really like souls. i only played sotfs but it was easy and the way people talk about it i thought it would be super hard. the boss fights were hard the first few times but the areas leading up to the boss i cleared out easily. remember i cleared no mans warf in like 10 minutes.

1 ReplyEdited by supermaxload26: 6/26/2015 4:53:19 PMSo, much, effort, time, and crying spent while playing this game. But hell these games were such a cherish-able experience that I will always cherish.
Me being the guy in the nursing home who plays guitar hero and a souls game waiting to hit that new high score before the heart monitor flatlines.
After platinuming bloodborne i realized it such an easy game, you just can't go in ballsy

Edited by Capresesalad: 6/26/2015 4:01:39 PMAfter beating dark souls 2, SOTFS, I couldn't get enough so I picked up 1, and I loved it! I can honestly say dark souls 1/2 are my favorite games of all time (I can't decide which is better, they are both awesome games) and I'm so hyped for 3. On a side note, I didn't find ornstein and smough that hard, but the fume knight on the other hand, holy shit. He wrecked me way too many times
-
3 RepliesI honestly think bloodborne is very over rated and personally don't like it, obviously that's my opinion and we all have different ones.

Dark souls 2 was very fun for me, I bought both versions of it and have about 300 hrs together. Dark souls one is also awesome! Ornstein and smough really piss me off though and it's really hard to get a summon these days. I bought a ps4 just to play bloodborne and I love that game as well. I would really like to play demons but I'm not gonna buy a PS3 anytime soon. Dark souls 1 changed everything for me, no other rpg compares to how good it feels to beat an area. I felt that ds2 was a more complete game, but I didn't like the characters quite as much. Bloodborne is beautiful in the most disgusting ways, it lacks in a lot of areas though and fails to keep my attention. If ds3 takes the best attributes from those three games and puts them together it will be a masterpiece. Bloodborne a fighting and graphics, with ds 2 weapon and armor selection with ds1 theme and npcs.

14 RepliesEdited by WhoAteMyFunDip: 6/24/2015 4:27:29 PMI know people who like those games, LOVE those games, so I'll probably catch shit for this, but here we go anyway. Not a fan. I think they're repetitive grindfests with esoteric storytelling & an elitist community. I actually dig the difficulty & how the game doesn't give a flying f_ck about the player, but other than that? Eh. I also think the whole "sense of satisfaction from killing a difficult boss" thing is overplayed. Die 3 or 4 times trying to kill a tough boss, sure. You'd definitely feel satisfied & accomplished after that. But, how many stories have you heard where someone said it took them 10, 15, or more times before they finally beat "insert boss name here"? That's not accomplishment, that's stubborn repetition. To each their own though, right? If we all liked the same shit, gaming would be pretty boring. Souls is a series I've tried to like multiple times, but just couldn't get into. I hope DS3 is everything its fans want it to be though. I know, git gud scrub. Cheers..

3 Replies3 play throughs on all of them exp bloodborn cuz that ant on xb1 whitch sucks........... like hard

17 RepliesI always enjoyed the fact I have a habit of going the wrong way and getting destroyed in the first playthrough of each one. Dark Souls: Right from Firelink, "Hey cool, a cemetery." Followed by death by skeleton. Dark Souls II: Right after character creation, "What was that path off to the side on the way here..." Followed by death by ogre teeth. Bloodborne: After unlocking the first shortcut: "Okay, big dude with an axe, I can do this." Followed by execution by executioner.

3 RepliesI just can't get through Blighttown dude. I have good gear, I'm pretty decent at the game but Jesus -blam!- the frame rate drops flush that AAAALLLL down the toilet.
-
Dark Souls is the only one I have played, but it is amazing.

1 ReplyDS1>Bloodborne>DS2 I'm hoping DS3 just blows them all out of the water. I have no clue if that's even possible, but I have faith in Miyazaki and FromSoftware.

1 ReplyDas1 > das2/bloodborne. All 3 are definitely masterpieces.
-
3 RepliesI started with dark souls, that was the best RPG of last gen IMO. DS2 wasn't great compared to the first. Bloodborne was another masterpiece, Miyazaki done it again. I find myself comparing every RPG's combat system, difficulty to the souls series. Bring on Dark Souls 3, hopefully Miyazaki can rekindle the fire of DS.
-
1 ReplyAbsolutely love them. Haven't gotten though DS but DS2 is my all time favorite game. Only game on Xbox I have 100% in 6 years of Xbox gaming lol can't wait for DS3
-
2 RepliesYou exited for dark souls 3?
-
1 ReplyPlayed and beat them all. Still think bloodborne is very short compared to the others
-
2 Replies
it's probably changed the way you look at video games.
Unless you played any decent NES game. Honestly, I love souls, but its "revolutionary" design is just them reverting back to old, unforgiving yet rewarding, standards.

11 RepliesI started with Bloodborne. I'd avoided the series for a long time, I figured that I didn't need the stress in my life. Well, I rage quit the first night in Bloodborne, but I went back and made some progress the second day. A couple weeks later and I hit platinum... After that, I couldn't get enough and grabbed Dark Souls. Once I got the hang of the slower pace, I loved it. I picked up Demon's Souls on digital. Shortly thereafter I still needed more and got Dark Souls 2 SOTFS. I'm still working on the DLC from that. But yes, it's addictive as hell and nothing else quite feels the same afterwords.

3 RepliesOh bby. Fond memories of knocking people off edges in PvP.......... Anyone play 2 on 360?

3 RepliesJust killed the Asylum Demon, and got to Firelink Shrine. After wandering around a bit, I thought the only logical choice would be to beat up a few wimpy skeletons in the Catacombs. I have never been more wrong in my entire life. EVER.
