Although your execution of your point didn't come across well (to me.) I agree with you on your actual point. It would be nice to see changes to existing content to make it better, if not for us day one-ers but for the new players. You seemed to contradict yourself about the leveling; I'm not sure as to your entire point there so I will just give my opinion. I actually rather enjoyed getting to 20 and then to 30. The grind to 30 was real. And to be honest it felt like a decent pay off - that said, it was anticlimactic not because of time to get there or how easy (34 in 2 days of casual play) - its anticlimactic because of the small effect levels have, the fact that as a lvl 34 I can't even be touched by a lvl 3 drag helping my friend on his new character. The scaling in this game sucks, and if that were changed to make it more drastic; I would have a real reason for a grind to the new light lvl. I actually want a grind. (The original VoG to 30 was a tad excessive), I want to put in the effort and time to get to 50 (not the actual cap, but placeholder). Grinding aside, I want them to connect more content. (This is going to seem convoluted - bear with me) Let's say they expand upon the cosmodrome map, old Russia - a few new areas. Maybe not huge ones, but when you get there you find a body, or a distress beacon, a guardian was shot down on his way back from the moon! Finding this unlocks a new mission (or a strike), maybe it unlocks a part of a strike - as in a door you couldn't previously get through. This would really make a desire to explore. You could have events like these spotted across existing (and new) maps. We have these beautifully crafted maps and worlds, but they all seem so separate. (Yeah they're different planets, but we have space age tech, there's no reason for them to be so disconnected) Of course just an expansion of existing areas (in both game mechanics and actual size expansion) would be nice; but what type of content should go into it? Anyways, there's my two cents

  • I apologize for contradicting myself. I love that idea and I 100% agree with you. For me the idea of leveling in Destiny is the most drive I have, second being gear. The way it was implemented seems to focus on end game, and makes the journey to level 20 a "dont worry, what's good is what's coming next." I would love them to extend the leveling to 30, and incorporate EXP and light into leveling to 50. That is my wish. Expanding upon built content with your idea, I honestly can't think of anything better. I just want more depth, exploration and reason to go out into the wild. Content I think could be possible to go into, to answer your question, could PVP areas where you have a chance of dropping loot, the longer you're there, the more chance you have to drop that Exotic you're carrying. But the more you carry, the more you may be able to find in the wild. A risk/reward situation. But when you kill someone and wish to collect the rewards and go to orbit, you must wait until Ghost deconstructs the gear into data, in which you being a Beacon on the map, where all can hunt you down for a time limit depending on the loot you gained. Again, a dream. But anything unexpected and beyond my imagination I welcome with open arms. I want a massive, connected, deep open world to carry us along the leveling path. And I hope they start with The Taken King.

  • The level cap feels too low, and the game feels too short; while yes there is a lot to do; after hitting the max level and getting your one set of gear you need - that's pretty much it, unless you want to collect stuff. That's where my problem lies with this game The open world pvp idea I have heard something similar before, love the idea. I would probably spend a lot of time in such an area I'm at work now so no wall of text. I'll probably be on later to swap some ideas with you.

  • Very true! When I first played the game I was surprised end game was so early. If the "stuff to do" was dispersed throughout the soft leveling period I think it would be so much fun! Experimenting with all the gear dropped from enemies, going to the vendor and buying new guns and armor with your glimmer. The soft leveling experience was truly rewarding for me! The only thing was the actual activities, which were exclusively story missions and strikes. I wish that sense of adventure (using the guns you find, armor you find from enemies) was there after you finish soft cap. The Vanguard and Crucible marks makes the game a grind imo..maybe if it was just for better stat weapons? But i think lower light level legendaries for glimmer would add more steps to the ladder! You could build your way up to max light level! On a side note, NPCs on Patrol would be a very welcomed addition. I was thinking just to make Xur spawn somewhere on a random planet..and he'd move every couple of hours. that would make exotics more *exotic* than they are now..man exotics are easier to get than Faction Gear (Faction shaders being the rarest item in game is another problem for another discussion). I recently brought up the idea of adding a new rarity tier of weapons on top of Exotic, be it Corrupted, Lost, Hidden, whatever. But items you gain from doing a specific task. That task should be difficult to do, difficult to find, and difficult to come across. The task should only come up once in a while so there is rare opportunity to attain said weapon. I just want to sense of exploration and freedom and progression that is lacking. I'm sorry if I babble and repeat myself

  • A reasonable, civil discussion on a video game forum...as a lover of logic I think I'm might just cry.

  • These are the conversations I look for. And the only I truly take part in. I'm going to be writing up a truly massive list of things I would like to see in destiny over the next few days. Covering everything from weapon balance to cutscenes and currency. I'm going to attempt to describe exactly how I would like to see the game. (Not just how it should have been, not complaining; but things feasibly added to the game). Watch for my wall of text. I'll try to arrange it so people can pick apart what they want to read/debate. Hopefully with some support us rational guardians can get our voice heard!
