It floated silently on the waves of space. Massive and intimidating, its huge frame tugged Rorschach out of the beauty of the Garden World below him. Giant artillery cannons sat on the sides of the ship, only displaying a fraction of their power. Rorschach looked up in awe as the Skiff began to pull into the hangar bay. Dregs could be seen scrambling and repairing damaged Skiffs, some even took notice of the new arrival, glancing up from their duties. "Whoa. Greevis, this Ketch is massive." "This is a War Ketch, yes? Yes, yes, very rare they are. We are the only ones who build and use them," Greevis replied "Other Houses want them, but Kell does not deem them worthy, yes." "The Kell huh? Hmm, is he on this one?" Rorschach pointed at the Ketch and looked back at Greevis, waiting for an answer. Greevis just shrugged, "Nobody knows which ship the Kell resides. Likes it that way, Kell does, yes?" Rorschach nodded. The doors to of the Skiff opened and a walkway was extended out to the Dregs as they climbed down from the ship . Greevis thanked the Vandal pilot and led Rorschach out into the hangar as the airlock sealed behind their Skiff. White fluorescent lights hung from the ceiling, illuminating the bay. Cargo crates sat stacked in corners and alongside the walls of the hangar, holding various parts and mechanisms that were vital to the House's fleet. Dregs dressed in tool belts and protective armor worked alongside Servitors and Repair Shanks, welding and fusing armor plates to other ships and vehicles. After walking past dozens of groups of workers, Greevis led Rorschach through a metallic door, opening with a hiss. The room behind the door was the main loading area of the War Ketch. The entry ramp was kept up, but it didn't detract from the size of the room. It was almost entirely empty, save a few Vandals and Shanks tirelessly guarding the area, watching and waiting, from the catwalks and in front of the circular doors. Even at the front of the Ketch, Rorschach could feel the hum of the engines, propelling Vaniks-7 out of Venus' orbit. . Greevis then led the new recruit through one of the doors into another cargo hold. The room was occupied by crates and Walker Tanks that hung from the ceiling, like a spider before dropping onto its victim. Large, Servitor-like spheres scanned the area from their sockets, being wary of intruders. Vandals pushed carts around while others oversaw the area from a walkway placed high above everything else. It seemed, at least to Rorschach, that security was a top priority among the House of Ash. Suddenly, Greevis broke the silence. "Lots of supplies and weapons, yes? Walkers only represent a portion of our power... Kell's power." Greevis looked back at Rorschach, "Preparing for war, we are. Humana under Great Machine won't see what hit them, yes." Rorschach stopped walking, narrowing his eyes, he looked at Greevis, "War? Greevis, what do you mean? I thought I heard Ventryx talk of an assault on Terra, bu---" "Yes, yes Rorschach... war. It is inevitable." Greevis lowered his voice and grasped Rorschach's shoulder, "Worry not though friend, for it only begins when the Kings give the order. Great power and status, we will maintain. Prepared you will be, Vandal you will become. Yes, yes. But I have spoke too much. Now Rorschach, follow me, and begin your training, we will. [b]And that concludes Chapter 2.
